Here they are. They are 10 years apart, but tend to get along pretty well. I gave them both a bath this morning. I took the Probe out for the first time since buying the RX-8 when I took it to the spray and wash. On the way back I took it down a curvey road and as soon as I hit the first corner I instantly remembered why I kept it. The RX-8 is a better car in every way but the Probe just puts a huge smile on my face everytime I drive it. :D

Here they are, nice and clean. :) I know I just posted pics of the 8 but I enjoy taking pictures of it, and very much enjoy the pic of their asses so I thought I'd share. :icon_tup:

looks good, but the 8 does beat up your probe in every way. haha

is it klze power'd?

It has the KLZE intake manifold. I shall be putting the KLZE cams in it shortly. I'm not worried about installing the KLZE heads or pistons though as most of the power of it comes from the intake manifold and cams.

Modifications to the Probe are:
Warm Air Intake
Resonated TP
AiR EvoS Muffler
KLZE Intake Manifold(Best Modification Ever!)
KLZE EPROM Chipped ECU
PRD Modified Distributor Cap
GM High Energy Ignitor
MSD Blaster SS Ignition Coil
KLZE Fuel Pressure Regulator
MBX Gauge Bezel
REVO Vaccum Gauge
REVO Air/Fuel Gauge
2000 Mazda 626 Rear Sway Bar
Pilot Fog Lights(not pictured, recently installed)
93 Probe GT Wheels in Graphite
Exedy Performance Clutch

It dyno'd at 153.7hp to the wheels and 145tq, roughly about 187hp at the crank. That's about 24 more than stock so I've been pleased with the mods I've done.

Nice, I had a klze power'd mx-3 about 6 years ago. It was a little monster. I love those engines too. Very nice sound and a good amount of torque to go with it. I do miss that car.

Very cool. I have always thought a MX-3 with a ZE would be a fun car. There are a few people on Probetalk.com with them. :)

Nice cars! Holy cow, you spent a lot of time modifying the Probe! Thanks for sharing.

I wish I'd have kept the Probe GT. I really regret selling it but didn't have an extra garage space. If that'd have not been the case, I could have both the PGT and the 8.

Nice pics.

I actually enjoy driving the PGT more now than before I bought the 8. After 75k miles of it being my only car, I kind of had a numbness to it. The extreme front biased center of gravity, the softness of the leather seats, and the feel of each individual tire were just kind of lost on me. It has a fresher feel now. And 30 mpg make it a decent car for all-purpose driving.

Thanks! I'd like to get a 89-91 FC to add to it. MAYBE an FD, but I definitly want another FC. I used to have a 88, kinda wish I still had it.

Too bad Ford named them the "Probe"... What were they thinking?
Isn't the Probe front-wheel drive?
Before my ex-wife and I were married,
she had an 89 turbo (I think 89?) that could smoke the (front) tires...
The torque would turn the steering wheel out of your hands!
If I remember correctly it was built by Mitsubishi...?

i believe ford probe was just a mazda mx-6 in disguise

The probe shared many underpinnings with the Mazda MX6 and 626.

I miss my former baby... that car had so much personality, never let me down, was always fun to drive, got great gas milage, and the hatchback literally swallowed a bookcase while moving from college :Eyecrazy:

took this pic in the short time I had the two... i heard since the pic the new owner of my PGT rolled it in a snow storm :(

It's interesting how many RX8 owners previously had Probes. I still have my '95 PGT sitting in my driveway. I take it out once a week to blow the junk out of the ZE. It is a VERY different ride... a very torquey one versus the RX8.

I still have a 1991 Probe GL in my garage... drive it daily to work. :(

Thanks guys!

I have actually been driving the Probe for the last two days since I took the RX-8 on a trip to SC this weekend. It's such a fun car. It's fun to be in 5th gear on the interstate, hit the gas and pass someone easily in the Probe. Torque is fun.

Too bad the Probe lacks the phenominal top end of the RX-8 though. The Probe has good top end, but it doens't compare to the RX-8.

Yea, they really do age well. It's nice to drive a 10 year old car that still looks modern. :)
