Hey guys,

I know this thread probably belongs in the "Good guys/Bad Guys"
section, but I thought it was more relevant in the "Canada" section.

I just want to give a shout-out to the mecs/service guys at Scarboro
Mazda. They got rid of that embarrassing/irritating squealing (new front pads/rotors). It was getting so bad that I was laying off/pumping the brake
at every controlled stop!!!!!

They also fixed up the rattling I was getting from the back window....
It was pissing me off so much that I almost yelled at my dog in the car a few times :)

The car is a near perfect machine again!!!! Now if only I could install a Greddy turbo and not void my warranty...........

How did they get rid of the brake squeal? I've had mine in there a couple of times for this issue. The first time they replaced the pads. It was fine for a while but the squeal came back. The next time I complained, they lubricated which worked for a couple of days but was then back again. I've almost resigned myself to live with it although it's pretty embarassing.

As for the other issue, how did you figure out it was the window rattling. I've got something rattling from the back seat but haven't been able to figure out what it is yet. And how did they fix it? Did they have to take it out?

Thanks for any help.

hey,

got new front rotors and pads.

My rattle was coming from the rear windshield. When u we're driving it sounded
like it came from the rear passenger side, lots of knocking over small bumps.
Reminded me of the Robert Munch book : "Cling, clang, rattle-bing-bang" .
:Eyecrazy:

They removed it and put on new liners or whatever that rubber/foamy crap is around the windshield. No problems w/ that since.

I went to my dealership today to book my car in to get my brakes done for the third time. I referenced the TSB for the new brake design and they gave me no resistance at all.

My dealer kept giving me grief that they don't hear the squeal when they test it. They refused to change the pad. Is there a mileage limit for the squeal or its under the 3years 60K? Where you guys in Toronto had that done? I live in Markham and the dealer claim they only cover upto 20K.
