Regret to say I bought the automatic... :banghead: Does anyone know details about the paddle shifter? I have found nothing on this topic and nothing specific in the book about it. My question is can I change from automatic to manual while traveling or do I have to be starting out from a stop in manual?
Sorry if this is a topic somewhere already discussed, I tried to search.....not to bother with repeated issues. Please help?

You can change it whenever you want. Have a phone call that you need to answer and you're in M...just pop it back to D and let the car take over. Whenever you're done, flip it right back. I love it. I'm just wondering myself if it's an actual hardware switch that goes on or if it's completely software based...if it's software there should definitely be no problems going back and forth whenever you want, I'd be more reluctant to change it a lot of it's hardware based.

Thanks for the response Veritgo-1 :beerchug:
Did you find this information or just know from experience? My dad has the M - A shifter in his Audi and assured me this is fine to alternate if needed, but when he took it for a test to show me (he also loves my car) it was acting up and would not shift properly after that, even though it was back in automatic. It stayed in 2nd despite accelerating. Just not sure why it did this...makes me cautious about using the manual except from start. Need to run the rpms higher in manual mode, cuz it gets to be acting sluggish.

:slap: Geeez, thanks Zoom! Looks like I embarrassed myself that I don't know how to search this site too well, since your message is clear on the problem I was experiencing. There is just so much on the site, it is overwhelming and I am not an internet for hours gal. Appreciate your help :)
