I think the sticker says/means the following:

"You pathetic useless SOBs. We would have won the war if not for your weakass white colonial masters from seas far away. If only we had taken the left turn instead of the one we choose; you would still be reaping the benefits of your wonderfully gifted car with rubber from our beloved Malaya.

Go ahead and keep pumping. Instead of us as your master, now you owe your lives to the Arabs! Good luck to you matey! We are on nuclear now.

Btw. Congrats on buying our Mazda."

I think that was what it says minus a couple of words..... sorry but my japanese isn't as good as it used to be. I hope this helps a little.

;-)

Since yiksing can get the kanji, I can read the katakana. Again, from left to right, it seems to say 'unleaded premium' and then underneath 'unleaded regular'.

Edit: Although there is a kanji character after 'unleaded regular.' I'm not sure if that's changing the meaning of the line.

It means. "ALL YOUR BASE ARE BELONG TO US"

Actually though it probably says: Unleaded Premium Fuel Recommended. that's what it says on mine.

That last kanji can mean "OK" or Yes, actually I can't read Japanese, just that Kanji is equivalent to Chinese but somehow can mean different thing in Jap.

It probably said;
Unleaded Premium Recommended
Unleaded Regular Acceptable
But what octane level does it translate to??

hi, sorry if i am hijacking the thread, but the manual says 95 octane for the MM 6MT right? anyway apparently one of the advantages of a rotary engine is supposedly that it has less risk of engine knocking and fuel detonation due to the shape of the combustion chamber... if this is so, shouldn't our 8s be able to run on lower octane fuel?

and anyway, if we consider that WRXs must run on 98 octane, i suppose being able to take 95 octane is good enough? or is it possible that our 8s might actually run ok on 92? since it is not turbocharged and all?

hmmm... shd i post this on a new thread for broader discussion?

I asked my wife. She is Japanese. You are correct yiksing. It says "Unleaded Premium. Unleaded Regular Ok."

This has been covered elsewhere in the forum but to make it easier to understand an engine is tuned to a specific timing according to the octane that will be used in a certain place. So if an engine is tuned to 95 octane to the maximum timing that it can without detonation, putting lower octane into that same engine will cause detonation because lower octane burns faster. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

Dont' worry, as a rule of thumb it's always better to post in an existing thread than to start a new one. This has been covered many times. I've actually seen people post almost identitcal questions. For me, I just put in it what the manual says to put in it and I don't worry about it. Some people use lower octane with no problems, but I don't drive mine as a daily driver so I don't need to save the extra 1.30 per tank of gass between the differences in prices.
