shout out from new user in San Jose

Whats up y'all

Out of San Jose, CA (south SJ for anyone local).

Just discovered you guys and joined up, glad to be here. I've been super busy searching out all my questions and seeing whats going on here...very sweet!

I've been able to search find out the answers to all of my accumulated questions about my ride (which of course I love). I think there is one question lingering...if anyone knows of a simple way to find out which flash version I am running that would be cool if you could post or PM me..I always wonder if the dealer is flashing me (not literally...lol) or not when I get serviced.

Nice to be here. Love to hear of any local rides or events going on.

BTW I am an alumni of the Protege forum, I owned a 03 mazdaspeed protege B4 my Rx-8 which I also loved.

Sweet another san jose owner. We're having a nor cal meet coming up in may, we can meet up and caravan there

to answer your flash question, it should be on your service report. If you do the pump brake test. More than likely you're on the n flash or later, which was a recall mazda did a while ago. If not you can always go to your service advisor and request them to check if you're on the latest flash.

you should look up www.baautox.com and go to autocross events. I go to most of them and they are fun and a great way to find the limits of your car in a safe environment.

cool, thanks for info and the welcomes. I've been wanting to get into autox for a while now and that site is sweet, thanks brattesani.

I'll do some searching re: the norcal meet..I'd like to go and hook up for any caravan heading up there.

Out of curiousity, how many other SJ owners are on the forum? I'd like to know who to keep a look out 4 on the roads

Thanks for the welcome. Yeah, I'll just go ahead and register at the rx7club.com forum as well, if I could be added to the list .I'm looking forward to it.

brattesani, I registered at the baautox.com site...thanks for the link

IzoomzoomI, thanks for the tip, I did the brake pump test...got the oil needle to to move. Also did the throttle hold test (4000rpm for 2 min) but did not get that result..so looks like I am not on the latest rev. I'll do some more searching and also call the dealer.

BTW, any particular dealer u guys recommend around here? Horror/success stories? I have been using almaden mazda and they seem ok.

just stay away from fremont mazda and you be fine. The best one i've personally been to is burlingame, they treat you like a king over there.

for the record... Fremont Mazda changed owners last year in July, they've been good to me so far... my first oil change last week... free of charge with no hassles... time was an issue though... but i guess i had a fault in that since i was a walk in... so i took a nice nap on the couch in their cafe =P
