i was just wondering if anybody out there with the racing beat intake (Revi) PLUS THE DUCT has had any problems or has hurt their gas mileage?

it will only hurt your gas mileage at first because you'll be having fun SMASHING the gas pedal to hear that SWEET sounding intake.

Nope, no problems with MPG. The biggest problem I have with MPG is my right foot. Zoom Zoom Boom

I have the intake only w/ no problems. I don't think I have ever heard of Ram Air decreasing mileage.

I got better MPG with the REVi (best was 24mpg), but worse mileage with the air duct (same as stock at 23mpg) .

^was this over a trial or just one tank versus another?

I'm still in the honeymoon stage with my REVi, so needless to say, right foot heavy = major decline in MPG! (but currently investigating what seems to be an isolated issue)

haha!
Many people have cleared their ecu after instlalling the Revi. I might still do this just to see if it changes my mpg...

This was about 1.5K miles with just the REVi. and about 2K miles with the duct. This was consistant with every tank, city and highway. The only thing I noticed nice about the duct was how it pulled easier in 6th on the highway. It's not designed to seal perfect to the REVi and it doesn't look like it has a smooth flow pattern like the Odula air duct. BTW, do they still sell that duct?

The 8 is designed to keep those fans running after you've turned it off to cool the motor down. I've had mine on for close to 20min a few times last summer. What some people do is put the key back in the ignition and turn it on 1 position and then off. This turns those fans off. I've never done that though since there's a reason they designed the cooling system this way.

That seems to be everyone's problem with the gas mileage and the 8.

I even have the Zoom Zoom sticker on my car to remind myself to push it down a little bit. Haha.

they say that the "50 state legal" documenation is still pending, but I can almost guarntee you that it is fine in most parts of the US... I used to have the HKS then went to REVi/duct, then turbo... I enjoyed the REVi/duct very nice, but a little too quiet for my taste... I like loud things probably because I'm 21 haha.. but REVi/duct is a good investment..

5/1/06 - Revi + Ram Air - 24,000 miles + installed new spark plugs with the Revi. – OEM tires, exhaust, 91 octane.
Sound – Don’t notice a difference. Kids don’t notice a difference. Sometimes hear the ‘sucking’ noise above 6,000 revs.
Idle – the bumble, or rev dip or whatever it is called is gone. Smooth idle now.
Power – feel more pull above 6,000 revs
Mileage – 1st tank city, 21mpg + 1 over standard 18-20 – 2nd tank freeway cruise 23mpg + 2 over standard 20-22 - 3rd tank rush hour freeway and city, 21mpg. Overall, 1-2mpg better.
