Hey folks. Just a quick question that I need an answer for. I just ordered a custom knob for my stereo ( like the one found here --> http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/RX8-RADIO-KNOBS_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6763QQitemZ805378 1100QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW ) and wanted to know if there was anything special I needed to do to take off the factory volume knob. I tried the old tried and true method, just try yanking it off, but it didn't budge. Should I use a small flat-head screw driver to force it off??
Thanks ahead of time for any info!

Pull, and pull some more.
A screwdriver will just chew it, and it's surround, up.
You could try a set of vice-grips with cloth around them, but there is no trick, just pull.

for me it took channel locks,, and a neoprene can cooler. cut it up to protect and grip the knob.

I just changed mine yesterday. Pull HARD. I thought i was going to break it, but it popped off eventually.
You'll need to pry the little retainer out of the old knob and put i tinto the new one. Pulling it out isn't a problem, but you need to press it into the aluminum knob with a lot of force (hint: I used a penny so it wouldn't dig into my thumb)
