Cripes! 260 hp!? Hope they get the suspension right so it can handle as well as it takes off!

Is it just me or does the rear end sit REALLY high?

That puts more pressure on Mazda to bring out a Mazdaspeed MX-5!

That is a nice looking little roadster. Not what I typically think of for Saturn.

Whats the difference betweeen this car and the Opel GT?

I think the Sky looks 10x better than the solstice. I hate the solstice front end! I own a 93 saturn SL2 with 200,000 miles on it. It gets between 35-40 mpg and replacement parts are real cheap. The car still runs strong and compression is all there.

Not much. It's the same car with Saturn badges.

The dual exhaust looks awesome. Aside from that, it doesn't look that much different that the standard Sky (which isn't a bad thing). I guess we can expect this one to approach 30K or so. It'll be high 20s for sure.

Has anyone seen a Sky on the road yet?

I'd get rid of my 8 for this.... wow, what a beautiful car.

i like this a lot, in terms of looks. however it is hard to imagine that it has that special feel of the 8, but then again maybe i just dont like convertibles.

sky > solstice

Saturn has been taking some bold steps lately. Until now I haven't had any respect for their brand. Looks like they're finally getting their heads out of their asses.

Damn this car is sexy... and I don't like convertibles! They need to make a coupe version of this car (ala Z4 Coupe, Cayman).

there must have some awesome tuning potential, and it looks great... looks like a winner.

Definitely. Proven 2.0L 4 they've been boosting for a while.

Wierd that it's going to have 260 horses. My wife's cobalt has the ecotech 2.0 engine in it, makes me want to think about what kind of mods I can do to my wife's car. Heh...heh...heh.

The Sky Redline uses direct injection (a 1st for the ecotech) and also is a big reason for such a big power gain. The original Cobalt SS only has around 200HP or so without direct injection. I'm not sure what else they did to get another 60 out of it.

Anybody know?

You can get a hell of a lot mroe out of it than just 60.
I've seen clips of that motor putting down over 1,000hp. It has a lot of potential.

The body frame looks familiar. I wonder if the same frame for this is used in the pontiac solstice. They look like they could be brothers.

Yes. Exactly the same underpinnings.

Has anyone seen that published guide by chevy that entails everything to part selection and build process to bring a 4-cylinder Ecotec to power levels of 300-1000 HP? It a great read... Ill post it up if i can find it.

If you find it, definitely post it. Would be a good read.

The Cobalt SS also has an inefficient Roots SC. The Solstice/Sky has a turbocharged engine.
