Well boys and girls, its that time of the year again. Who do you like this year? I am going to go out on a limb and say Miami owns all. But as long as LSU dosent win anything, I will be happy:p (LA Tech will own LSU come Nov. 1..just wait :D..Death Valley my arse)

Sooners I think are going to have an easy time of it this year, they won't be playing many (only 1) preseason ranked teams but have a strong schedule BCS wise.

Longshot pick: ND - There was something special about last years team, and I think they will be more talented this year, but will need to be as lucky as they were last year if they want a trip to the Sugar Bowl.

Good call, I completely forgot about notre dame. They need to prove last year was no fluke, and with the talent they have I think they can. Even though Miami has a new quarterback this year, I still think they will be very tough. I am just glad football season is here, time for tailgating and insane amounts of beer:D. I also get to watch the "Aint's" aka "Saints" play here in NO this year. Now thats a team who will just roll over and die. Beat the super bowl champs twice....and yet lose to the BENGALS..... bastards.

Don't suppose you're looking for an NFL fantasy team are yeh? My league didn't invite a couple people back this year because they were duds and we have one opening to fill. If interested, or anyone else for that matter let me know.

Definetly Notre Dame. Watch for the Irish defense to be touted as the best in the nation a few weeks into the college season.

I'm just happy football season is coming, period. Getting by on world poker tour, 9-ball championships, and the very rare US-televised euro-league soccer game is rough over the summer lull.
I didn't even know the Eagles were playing last night until I watched NFL Countdown - what a frickin treat, even if it is pre-season.

I don't really follow college like I do the NFL, but I watch on saturdays. Practically sacreligous here in Nebraska...

What's even better to me about the fall is...HOCKEY SEASON :)

I think Michigan has a better shot than Notre Dame. And with Notre Dame having to play at Michigan in mid September, that will decide a lot between the two programs. It seems in recent history that whoever wins the game goes on to have a great season, and the other falls apart.

To me, Ohio State is the intangible.

Amen, on the world poker thing. And as much as the great outdoor games are interesting, there is only so much time you can spend watching two guys spin a log. Anyway, I get to go to the LA Tech v. Miami game on the 28th, eventhough I think Miami will win, I dont think it will be huge. They are playing in Shreveport, first game of season, so anything can happen. And hopefully I get to be on TV. Also, I see Michigan blowing it this year. If its not ND, it will be somebody.

I see Michigan blowing it also, but I still give them a better chance than ND simply because the game is in Ann Arbor.

I'll be happy with whoever comes out on top as long as it's not Ohio State, ND, Miami, or Florida. The list could go on, but those are the four I like the least.

I am going to go with the Sooners this year. Anybody follow Division 2? I do but that is becasue I go to a D2 school. I am going to say WIU for D2 not only because it is my alma mater but we always have a good team and we have won some national titles in the the last 5 years or so.

Damn, you need a bullet proof jacket and helmet to be anywhere near waco. For a town with nothing really going on, some strange shi* goes on there.:o

Watch out for Pittsburgh, they have a lot of players returning on a team that gave Notre Dame and Miami all they could handle last year. I don't think they will win it all, but they should be up there.

Thats crazy. I take it you did not know the guy who got shot, as it was proably a little after your time. Those two guys were supposed to be pretty good friends from what I hear. Makes you wonder what went on when they were out shooting. (besides the whole shot in the head thing.) But yeah, I have been to Waco a few times and that place has a pretty strange vibe.

Yeah they were after my time. It's a really strange situation, but truthfully nothing surprises me anymore.

I would have loved to have a car franchise in Waco from 1974 to 1977, because that covers about 80% of the cars in Waco.

Is this place full of Sooners? Yak. It's gonna be Texas all the way. Either Chance Mock or Vince Young will step up and start connecting with best recievers in the country and you've got a team looking to beat the last two 11-2 seasons.

The Big XII is THE confrence for college football, and I don't think you'd see Ohio St. or Miami going undeated until the end of the season if they had to play in a confrence with K-State, Nebraska, OU, Texas, & A&M - not to mention the up and comers in OSU and Missouri.

Miami nothin'...O-Who?... and I don't think anyone even cares where Ohio St is... Don't get me started on ND - they won't even have a shot this year (maybe a BCS game... maybe).

Horns in 03! Hook 'em!

Yeah, maybe TU does have a chance now that Simms is gone, but I hope not!!

Red Devil

I would agree that the Big Twelve is the best conference, but Texas has been chokers in recent years. I would take Miami over them any day.

And in a normal year, Miami has to contend with both Florida and Florida State. I know UF and FSU are down this year, but that won't last forever, the state of Florida has more talent than any other place in the country to recruit from.

I thought you went to Baylor... that's more of an aggie expression... And speaking of A&M and Baylor, how are they doing this year?

As for Miami... they're good, and they do get FSU and Florida every year, but the years where Miami's gone anywhere (in recent history), FSU and UF have both been off. Way off. It's not as though Miami's winning it all playing top 5 teams in their confrence. The Big EASY is a joke of a confrence - I look forward to seeing a real ACC next year. Miami will be good again this year with no real tests except VT and Pitt, but they won't win it all with a new starting QB, RB, and WR. Good but not great.

And as for Texas choking, how many times did FSU choke before they got one? If you're at the top year after year, you'll start taking them sooner or later - just ask Bobby Bowden.

Damn, Red Devil beat me to it. But I am going to have to say it again. Texas usually does ok, but man those guys choke.:o :D They could be on the verge of winning it all, and in the last game of the year lose to Middle Arkansas Tech Holy Babtist Junior College.

I guess it'll just take another national championship to shut everyone up... which would be just fine in my books....:D
