My wife recently bought a 2003 Jeep Liberty. There is a recall to replace the lower control arm ball joints. Does an alignment need to be done with this replacement? The dealer is telling me it does not need to be aligned. I had new tires put on the car today and the tire shop said the dealer should do an alignment with the new joints. I will pay to have it done anyway with the new tires, but want to know if I should push to have the dealer include it with the recall.
Thanks

i would push, but it shouldnt be too expensive, so i wouldn't kill your relationship with your dealer over it. good luck!

It's only about $60 for the alignment. I just thought that Jeep should do it if that's the proper way to do the job. I dont have a relationship with these guys yet - this is the first time I have ever had a Jeep and the first visit to a Jeep dealer:)

It needs an alignment................they should pay. Any changes to the suspension will alter the alignment. Just the ball joints might not ....but they probably have to loosen off the rest of the components to get at the ball joint.

Alignment is a must-do after replacement.
