Does anybody know how many cars are going to be heading to the UK next year? I am very interested in the RX-8 but will have to wait until next year before I can afford one:(

The answer to this is available somewhere - I have read it.
Do an 'advanced search' on the forum and you should find the answer. I think it is either 3,000 or 6,000 but am quite ready to stand corrected....

I think it was originally supposed to be 3,000 this year and 6,000 next year. However with all the changes because of the Japanese and American demand for the car that happened this year I can see the number of cars being earmarked for the UK next year getting drasticly reduced in order to satify those 'Main Markets' !

Exactly 2,083 in the first year I believe (of which at least 1250 are already sold).

Was supposed to be more but they've sold to many to Jap/US market.

It's never been clear whether 'first year' means 2003 only (ie Oct2003-Dec2003) or first year of sale (ie Oct2003-Oct 2004), though I think it is the former.

I was told the same figure as RobD and then for the final year the figure would make up to 5000 cars.

So around 3000 next year.
