If any of you photoshop experts can put those on a sunlight silver rx8 (preferably with an appearance package) i would greatly appreciate it. No RUSH, take your time.

I'm sure with photoshop you can "make them fit". Will they fit is the question, I don't know. Photoshop is good for giving you an idea of what they may look like when on.

Here's a crap job, but should give you the idea:
(and by the way, I highly doubt 20" rims will fit on this car...not without some adjustments to the suspension)

I think the 18" are huge enough...most people who see my car saw "it's all rims!"

hey thanks for the help man. Ill think twice before i change my car like that. for some reason i have some weird attraction to chrome.

i must say that i do like the chrome/velocity red contrast but would chrome wheels go with a sunlight silver RX-8??

hmm...

I wouldn't go any bigger than the standard 18s. To fit 20s you would need to roll the fenders and your turning radius would go to hell. Big wheels also add unsprung weight which inhibits acceleration.

To answer the question if 20" wheels will fit or not, it depends more on the tires than it does on the wheels.

The stock circumference of the RX-8's OEM tires is 26".

That would mean that technically you need a 245/30 R 20. Only Pirelli Nero makes a tire with those dimensions that I know of. A 30 aspect ratio on a 245 tire is a VERY thin tire and is meant mainly for show. To prevent rim damage, you will probably need to run the tire at a very high PSI and ride quality will suffer.

The next best thing to do is to cheat a little and go with a 245/35 R 20 tire. There are a few companies that make tires of this size including the Bridgestone S-03's which are 26.7 inches in diameter. Your speedometer will read about 3% low because of the difference (i.e. at 70 mph your speedo will display that you are only going 68 mph)

If you really want dubs on your car, then the second option is really the only way to go IMO. Put those tires on a 8.5" 20" wheel like the one shown on Ebay and it should fit. You want to make sure that the offset is at least 40mm for them to fit without problems. The closer the offset is to the factory 50mm the better.

Good luck,

-Mr. Wigggles
