View Full Version : **Scaled Model Pics Here**
hoosteen 03-23-2006, 01:43 AM So, I'm looking to buy a scaled model of the RX-8.
The only decent one i can find is the 1/18scale model of the RX-8 from Autoart.
I want something like a hotwheel. Anyone have any pics or places where i can find something like that?
here is the one from auto art.

BunnyGirl 03-23-2006, 02:01 AM I'd be happy if I could find a blue one that's not a transformer.
yiksing 03-23-2006, 02:06 AM I could get myself one of those really small RC cars in that scaled size for 10 bucks but all they got is the yellow one
DailyDriver2k5 03-23-2006, 06:41 AM Do you want one like this?

If you do...your best bet is to get the RX-8 from Jada Toys.....Hot wheels doesn't have any Rx-8 models as of yet. Neither does Maisto...Autoart has the best detail of any model company out there and i only go with Auto art if i want a high detail model of a car in stock form. As far as Rx-8's with a MS kit and rims , go with Jada Toys, they have the best deatil as far as performance parts inside and outside the car.

I want to pick up one of those!
toxin440 03-23-2006, 09:04 AM I've been wanting a black RX8 from autoart for MONTHS, but nobody has the damn things in stock. 60-70 bucks for a model is a lot, but Its a necessary thing because its an exact replica/color of the one sitting in the parking lot with my name on it :)
If anyone happens know to a place that has a stock of Black 1:18 scale RX8's PLEASE let me know, email toxin440@gmail.com or pvt me :-p

I'll keep my eyes open, as i frequently visit hobbytown USA. IF you want they have a website to order from. My personal favorite is Diecastfast.com. They have a large selection of model car companies and cars. Here is there website aswell:
http://diecastfast.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=M&Affiliate=M
Hey also check your local Walmart, Samclub, K-mart, Target, alot of the jada imports are there too...Alot cheaper too....
Cool-Blue-Dad 03-23-2006, 10:57 AM I want to pick up one of those! You want to pick up a blue one that *is* a transformer or a blue one that is *not* a transformer? I have some of the blue US (plastic) Shockblast transformers which I bought at ToysRUs
Hot Wheels *does* (or did) make some Mazda RX-8s. I have one right here - HIN Dforce (see pic). About the same size as the Jada toys Import Racer. Both are pretty common and cheap on e-bay.
I also found a 1/36 model from Kinsmart which turn out to be pretty cheap plastic (and right-hand drive). It was really cheap on e-bay and came with no package (but was in perfect condition otherwise).
I never ponied up the $$$ for the larger metal models. If I had a $100 model on my desk some dimwit would break it. :spank:
EDIT: Forgot to mention - the Jada Import Racers are somewhat common at KB Toys too. I found blue and green there.
Aipex8 03-23-2006, 12:39 PM I have a small collection of diecast cars, not limited to RX-8's. If you want large scale and quality, Autoart is the way to go. I have their 1:18 RX-8 in black and titanium. Autoart also makes 1:43 scale RX-8's in every available color.
http://www.aa-collection.com/autoartshopping/images/items/55923a2.jpg
They even make a 1:43 Mazdaspeed in silver and dark blue:
http://www.aa-collection.com/autoartshopping/images/items/55932a2.jpg
You can purchase these directly from Autoart (http://www.aa-collection.com/)
If you want a tunable RX-8, try Hotworks Racing. It comes stock looking and you can add the Mazdaspeed kit and wheels. It's 1:24 scale (true to scale, not overscaled and cartoony like Jada). They also make an FD.

Is that red one in the middle an RC car?
Wouldn't it be cool if somebody made a scaled down gas-powered rotary and put it in an RC car?
hondasr4kids 04-04-2006, 11:03 PM they do make RC rotary motors

Aipex8 04-06-2006, 09:08 PM Here is a pic of an RC 787B with that rotary engine in it. I got this pic off an RX-7 forum back in my FD days, don't remember any details about it other than it was custom built. Pretty cool looking though.

SayNoToPistons 06-10-2008, 03:03 PM Bump. I thought i spotted a thread on scale models a few weeks back but I can only find this.
My GF just got me a blue Kinsmart 1/36 rx8. I have no idea how she spotted it but she did while she was shopping in Rite-Aid (pharmacy). SHe's going back to get me a silver one too :) .
She also planned on buying me an autoart RX8. I "gotta catch em all" like "pokemans".
Alucard 06-10-2008, 03:40 PM here is some of mine... all the auto art 1/18 scale Rx8's... well until the police car is finally for sale
