As you can see from the list... we need more food.

Also, lets try to keep this thread on-topic

I'll bring soda and energy drinks. Also, a buddy of mine is going to tag along. He purchased my supercharged mustang off me and he wants to show it off.

So give him a "hey man, cool car" when you see him, it'll make him (and myself) feel good. :)

BigOLundh

If i'm doing the spoiler... i'll probably need metal drill bits again.

dazygirl415
03-22-2006, 09:43 AM
Add Shari (ALWAZL8) to the list. She'll be in town. I know we need to check out the wiring in her puddle lights. Put me down for 2 big bags of chips.

jaguargod
03-22-2006, 10:38 AM
I've got no great tools worth mentioning, but I can bring some food or drink. I can update what that will be soon. Is there food or drink items in particular that are needed, or should I just bring whatever? If I haven't sold my Axis wheels by then, I might bring one of them with me since someone else is going to try to fix curb rash.

Creto
03-22-2006, 12:36 PM
My clear corners should (shipping 3/27 supposedly) be in by then, so I'm game. Food/drink wise, same question that jaguargod had... any needs/requests? since this is at a garage, there going to be a way to prepare any food (read: grill)?

BigOLundh
03-22-2006, 12:54 PM
I updated the list.
Creto, if you plan on changing the bulbs in your corner lens, you may want to get those before the install party, so you don't have to take the lens out again.

I'd love to bring a case of water bottles, if you think that'd be a good idea.

No power?

How are you suppose to work the lifts? Do you have a bathroom??? :-P

yes I have a bathroom, its nothing fancy, but there is alot of room

chr1s
03-22-2006, 03:28 PM
well thankfully we'll have a place to piss! ;)

So are you saying you don't have power in the shop? Or just no spare outlets to power the grill?

BigOLundh
03-22-2006, 04:15 PM
So are you saying you don't have power in the shop? Or just no spare outlets to power the grill?Yeah?????
Hopefully someone can bring a propane grill with propane accesories (KOTH Reference)... so power may not be a problem.

03-22-2006, 06:29 PM
For the third time, you still haven't answered my question. Do you have power in the shop or not? Like lights? What about a air compressor that uses electricity for air tools?

I think hollywood is going to lure us into some downtown abandoned warehouse and set us up in some trapped room like in saw. Then he's going to steal our rx-8's and sell them.

I'm so gonna end up in the reverse bear trap........ *sigh*

no lifts and no power, its just a place where I keep my cars and prep my race bikes. we have done a couple motor swaps there but nothing major.

BigOLundh
03-22-2006, 09:43 PM
Well... for the food we can still use a propane or charcoal grill. I dont think we really needed a lift (jack stands can work).
BUT, we may need electricity for the air compressor so we can get to fixing the rims.

Suggestions?

What can i order that is fairly cheap to install. I have like 4 things of soda and 8 bags of chips i can bring. My grandma does demos at Wal mart and i get all the stuff she dont give away. All new kinda chips and the new 7up flavors! I just wanna add something new to the RX8.

Might order the Short Throw for Axis! Anything else? Dont have nothing really yet.

I might be able to get a generator from my dads hanger. Give me a couple days to get with him. Then we will have some power. Plus if i get the generator ill just hook up the big ass grill they have out there to the back of his truck! He better be in town!

If we are going to have a grill handy, I can bring hot dogs and hamburger patties, if someone else wants to provide the buns. Or I can do hot dogs with buns, or hamburgers with buns. I do not claim to be a good grill cook though, so it will be advantageous to everyones taste buds if someone other than me cooks them.

I am considering painting my calipers and rotor hubs. Would it even be possible to do that on all four wheels in one day, with all that is involved (wheel removal, prep, paint, dry, wheel install)?

Slims8
03-27-2006, 06:43 PM
I would recommend letting it dry for quite some time before driving it. I started to do mine at the last install meet, but decided to wait until I could let them dry for a while.

I'll let you guys know if I can wait long enough to install them at the party. Not sure if I'll be able to though as having stuff sitting in the living room is like torture for me :b

Because thats safe.......I guess I don't know you well enough to tell if you're joking....On my last 2 cars, when we did the springs/shocks we were at a shop with a spring compressor, but didn't bother with it. Standing on them isn't "safe", but if you are pointed towards a wall... its not so dangerous either. Its also A LOT faster.

ELECTRICITY UPDATE:

Ok, i talked to Chris (Jenkins-Crew) about moving the party to his house in Ft Worth. We held the last install party there and it went really well. Most importantly... he has electricity, an air compressor, and lots of tools. He also has a grill. Its my opinion that it might be best to move the party there. If anybody has any objections please let me know. If not.. i'll update the first page with the new location, address, and time.

I might be interested in changing out my tranny and diff fluid with royal purple.

I also have a set of magnecor wires I could swap out as well.

Chris(jenkins) - Will I need to bring any tools? Like a pump for the fluid and stuff, or is it alright if we use some of your stuff.

I'm still on the fence about whether I wanna do this stuff during the install party. I was saving it for a car day with my dad, since I bought him some stuff for his car, but it he's been really busy lately with work.

well, if you havent figured it out, i'm not gonna make it, lol.
My stuff is installed. I need to do a custom cover for my amp though as it's sitting in the trunk recess. It sounds fantastic. I'll take pics once I have the cover done or at least the design done as I'm gonna do somethin special.

I feel real sh*tty for not coming out today. I didn't get out of bed till 3, and that was with a massive hangover.

Jaguargod... i am passing through your area next saturday, on the way to Gotham Racing to get my car tuned. I'll drop of the shrouds then. Sorry again that i couldnt make it.

So how was the party?

You should!! Just kidding. Maybe you should change your screen name to BigOLush. We didn't get to install anything, but I had a really good time. Everyone there was super friendly, and I gathered some useful information that should help me with some future installs and projects. Before you come over to this area next week, let me know and I will give you my address. Or I can always meet you somewhere off of the highway if that is easier.

Well... Creto, I enjoyed it. That wasn't exactly how I had once planned it, but I guess that's how it goes sometimes.

Anyone that wants plenty of Sunday Keg beer.....

So if my corners dont flash with the blinker, does that mean the bulb is bad, or does it mean that we should have actually replaced the lines along with the bulbs?

So if my corners dont flash with the blinker, does that mean the bulb is bad, or does it mean that we should have actually replaced the lines along with the bulbs?Thats normal. The side bulbs are not blinkers. If you want them to blink there is a DIY in the tech forum that shows you how to tap into your blinker wires.

Personally.. i think the car looks better when they are always on.
