Welcome to California! You will be visiting many places I have never seen, and I have lived in California my whole life. The weather here should be very pleasant for your visit; May is usually very sunny and warm, except in San Francisco.

When you arrive in California, post here and let us know where you are. I'm sure there are many RX-8 owners who would be happy to meet with you. I live very close to the Racing Beat store.

How exciting for you and your wife! I hope you enjoy your visit. It will be spring and absolutely beautiful in Yosemite. As Aratinga said, San Francisco is usually cooler temperature-wise, but the rest of your visit should be pleasant and warm.

San Diego is my home, and Coronado is my favourite beach. It's huge in comparison to all other beaches here, and home to the historic Hotel Del Coronado. Get a drink at their beautiful dark wood bar, and head out to the beach to watch the sunset. I recommend dining at Peohe's for dinner (by the ferry landing in Coronado). It provides a great view of downtown San Diego from across the bay. Take a water taxi or the ferry to downtown San Diego and stroll the Gaslamp for clubs, music, restaurants, and shopping at Horton Plaza. During the day, head up to the historic San Diego Zoo and Balboa Park for the museums (they're all within walking distance of each other). There's also The Prado restaurant there for some good chow. Any questions, please feel free to PM or email me.

Have a safe and wonderful trip!
