I've been autocrossing for 2 full seasons now, but never with SCCA. Looks like i'll be at an SCCA event next month, so i had a quick question in regards to classification. I'm not trying to compete... i'm just looking to get more seat time in and become better, faster, and more knowledgeable.
I looked it up in the rule book, and I believe i will be in STU... but i'm not sure.
- The car is Turbocharged.
- The Current wheels are 17X9
- Current Tires are 255 Falken RT-615
Is there anything else that I didn't list that could possibly have bumped me into a different class?
Thanks for the help

can't add a turbo in STU, it's Street Mod for you!

can't add a turbo in STU, it's Street Mod for you!Looks like your right... Below is where in SM it gives me the allowance for boost.
16.1 ALLOWED MODIFICATIONS
D. Drivetrain and related components (induction, ignition, fuel
systems, etc.) are unrestricted except for the following limitations:Then it goes on to certain limitations that do not apply to me.
Well, at least its one less letter to cut on the magnet.

It is kinda confusing though, in Appendix A:
Supplemental Class STU
Coupes/Sedans - 4 seats minimum
Engine Displacement
- any normally aspirated or
- up to 3.1L forced induction
(single turbo/supercharger).
Mazda RX-8:
STU
Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution:
STU

It is kinda confusing though, in Appendix A:
But nowhere in the rules for stock or stu rules does it say you can add forced induction to your car. If it doesn't specifically say you can, then you can't.

The forced induction in STU ( I think ) must be factory. After-market FI moves it out of the class.
I think that's how it works.

yes, the engine from the throttle body to the exhaust port face must be OE with exception for several stated allowances; A/C removal, etc.
