I can't believe how many people ask me this about my 8. The worst part is after I say none it's a rotary they ask me again. I'm gonna just start saying its a v12

at my first fiil-up from the attendant- " that's the new one from mazda? rx-8 right?" - me-"yes" guy "is it an 8 cylinder?" me"no it's a rotary." guy-"so is it a 6 cylinder?" me-"no it's a rotary. it doesn't have cylinders. it has 2 rotors." and i explained a little about the rotary. then the guy says"hunh.....is it fast?" :D

this reminds. i was at a in-n-out drive thru the guy looks out and his like "i know that car, its a mazda!!!!!!", i was like werd. then his like "it has a rotary engine right", i was like werd.

tell 'em it has 14...one for each hamster that powers it

So, last night, I'm eating sushi with my wife in this, awesome tiny sushi restaurant close to where we live. It was later in the evening and there was only one other couple in the restaurant. We had parked right in front of the restaurant.
So this guy, I guess he was from England with his accent. Come into the restaurant and asks, is that your car out there? I said yes (Proudly).
Does that have the rotary engine in it? I said "yes" again. He goes on talking about how he drove an RX-7 on the Autobahn in Germany so many years ago, and how he loved it. I told him that this was a different model, but similar to the RX-7, but it wasn't designed to replace it. But if your interested they have RX-8's at the dealers all around town. He told me, he would be test driving one the next day. He seemed very excited about it.

I would of offered to show him more of the car, but I was in the middle of my meal, and I don't think the wife would of appreciated it. :) I love that car...
