View Full Version : MS sideskirts installed w/Appearance Package!
Olorin2 03-13-2006, 09:40 PM What's up guys...
I installed the MS sideskirts this past weekend, and I'm really happy with the look. Even though it's not a perfect match, the front and rear Appearance Package pieces actually look really good with the MS sides. I do plan to put on the MS front before the Summer, but in the meantime I can definitely live with the way it is. ;)
I snapped a few pics this morning!
FN sweet dude ~~~ !!!!!!!!!!!!
tiggerlee 03-13-2006, 09:45 PM Looks good. I do agree that the front air dam goes well with the MS sides but the rear is lacking something. Nice work though.
jaguargod 03-13-2006, 09:45 PM Looks good. I just put the appearance package side flares on, but at some point in the not-too-near future, I might switch to those, if anyone still has them in Titanium at that point.
HolyCross05 03-13-2006, 09:57 PM They look nice, I was thinking of the same configuration also because i'm not really a big fan of the MS spoiler and front lip. Where did you get the sideskirts from and how much if you don't mind me asking?
Olorin2 03-13-2006, 10:28 PM Thanks for the positive comments! I do agree that the rear flares are the weakest link, so to speak. They're just not as aggressive as the MS sides, or even the air dam. Maybe I'll go for the MS rear diffuser too.

I bought them from OnlineMazdaParts.com, the same place I got my MS exhaust. Great customer service and very friendly! For some reason I feel weird about posting the price, but you can find all the info here! Does anyone think my car looks slightly lowered? I used to have a larger wheel gap in the front, but now it looks level with the rear. Maybe I'm just imagining it. I do have a set of Tein H-techs still in the box and I'm trying to decide if I want to lower the car at all. I bought the H-techs because it had the smallest increase in spring rate and lowered the car more in the front than in the rear -- to get rid of that larger front gap. Decisions, decisions...
Moostafa29 03-13-2006, 10:52 PM Wow, seems like forever now that my car used to look like that. Looks good though, congrats!
lesper4 03-14-2006, 01:22 AM Nice, that is what i want to do, front lip, ms sides and either the rear areo flares or possible the ings+1 rear. Good job.
BlueFrenzy 03-14-2006, 01:34 AM It's a great look. Always loved the combo since I saw r0tor and IAMDANOMITE's cars.

It would probably look better if you go with the rear aero flares. Ings rear will only flow with other aftermarket side skirts.

Well, I've had the car less than a year, and I'm slowly changing things. Give me another year and it should look even better! Maybe some new Volk wheels in the near future?? :icon_droo :fingersx:
Thanks again for the comments guys.
XDEEDUBBX 03-14-2006, 10:00 AM Nice and clean...plan on lowering your car?
Im_DANomite 03-14-2006, 11:06 AM niiiice...MD represent! :D:

Yeah, I actually bought some Tein H-techs a few weeks ago. After installing the MS skirts I'm not sure I want to go any lower for fear that I'll start scraping on driveways and such. Still making up my mind about that.

Yeah dude! I've yet to meet any other MD 8 owners. I would really like to get a meet going some time in the Spring and check out the other rides around here.
Im_DANomite 03-14-2006, 11:22 AM we usually meet up at the fuddrucker's in columbia. just keep your eyes open. with all this nice weather we're having, we should have one pretty soon. OR...we can just organize our own little meet.

i have Tein S-Techs with the appearance package and MS sides...no problems here. not even the crappy roads on Rt. 50 down here in Annapolis do any harm.

lol I remember that... it came a long way. It's a good look...
L8APEX 03-14-2006, 06:42 PM I like the look, I want to do the same, and yours is the first Ti I have seen like this. Makes me happy that it looks good. I just worry about speed bumps, I already come very close to scraping when negotiating them.
r0tor 03-15-2006, 07:11 AM It's a great look. Always loved the combo since I saw r0tor and IAMDANOMITE's cars.
yea... i happen to think its a good look as well :p:
rkostolni 03-22-2006, 08:35 PM I'd like to check out that look in person on a ti. I've been looking for some appearance mods to do. I can't swing a full MS body kit now, but I could probably do the side skirts.
t-run/8 03-22-2006, 10:15 PM Very clean looking 8 you have there. I am loving the skirts. Will look even better when you complement it with the full kit or whatever other body parts you decide to add. Congrats.
NgoRX8 03-22-2006, 10:41 PM Car looks good, needs a lower though. You should be fine installing those H-techs.
cleoent 03-23-2006, 12:07 AM I think it matches just fine. Looks great.
Definitely needs a drop though.
RX-Aight 03-23-2006, 11:55 AM Looks like a clean install, i do agree that a lowering kit would look sweet on there
Olorin2 03-23-2006, 02:03 PM Thanks everyone! Yeah, the Teins are sitting at home until I get a nice warm day to install them. I'm also trying to decide if I want the MS bumper now, or later on. I've received a lot of compliments already about the MS skirts though from friends and people from work who are car enthusiasts.
On a different note, I was going to post another thread, but I thought I might ask here: Anyone think blue caliper paint would look good with TG? I was looking at the G2 system, and the blue looks pretty nice. I was going to just get red originally, but I did want to do something a little different. Blue is shown in the pic below. Any comments are welcome.
