View Full Version : RX8club.com shirts any day now ...
BOOSTD 7 08-08-2003, 07:51 AM Here's what they'll look like ... with one small difference. I should wait and post the 'final' design, but I wanted to do it now :D
The text forum will be replaced with club.com
This is just the first of many designs to come. All sorts of other rx8club.com stuff coming soon too. And if you've bought one of the rx7club.com shirts, you know how high quality they are. These will be the same. Pricing should be about $18/shirt.
BOOSTD 7 08-08-2003, 07:51 AM and the back of the shirt ...
Where do we order!!!!!!
How about a plate frame? I would love one with room to add my Handle Kuf to it. Maybe have RX-8 Club.com on the bottom with a spot for Kuf up top, yeah thats the ticket.
Prowla 08-08-2003, 08:06 AM That's cool! I'll actually be able to order some this time around. About changing the text from 'forum' to 'club', it's about time. :p
I was starting to get confused about which to type in when it comes to rx7club.com and rx8forum.com. I get them mixed up once in a while.
my10ae 08-08-2003, 01:35 PM I don't even have an 8... but want a shirt. How do we order one up?
eccles 08-08-2003, 01:48 PM Please sir, can we have one without the tupperware extras? :)
RX-8 Zoomster 08-08-2003, 02:00 PM Looks pretty cool, but I seriously doubt I'll order one. Why? I dislike the back. Why is there an image of the RX-8 Mazdaspeed when over 99% of all the owners on this club/forum doesn't have a car tha looks like that? I think you could seriously come up with a different image than that.
I'll probably wait for you guys to put out a didn't shirt. Why don't you put out a nice polo shirt with just the RX-8 Forum on the front? If you don't, then that would be something I would do on my own.
cruzdreamer 08-08-2003, 02:38 PM I like the shirt too except that it has the car with all that kit stuff on , so for that reason...I would NOT order it. I bought a shirt for $12 from a guy on ebay.....has RX-8 on front and the actual car(yellow) on the back with it's doors open. I wish it had it with the doors closed but it's all I could find at the time. If interested go to ebay under Mazda RX-8 and look up the t-shirts. The shirt I have is nice regular t-shirt.....car is silk screened on there. Nice try on the shirt though.:)

...'cause most forum members aren't over 25, never mind square enough to want a polo/golf shirt :p

Not sure about the 25 bit but with the rest I concur.

hahaha... ever taken a good look at the "today's birthdays" section at the top of the homepage??
OmegaBob 08-08-2003, 03:10 PM I'd order a golf shirt if offered. I'd prefer that to a kiddie tee w/pic on the back any day.
Added bonus: I could wear my RX-8 Club golf shirt to work.

But we don't need a polo shirt, Mazda has us old folks covered on that. A T-shirt is more appropriate for a car club. Just something to throw on when we head out on rallys.
TybeeRX-8 08-08-2003, 03:27 PM Looks good to me. I'll buy one even though I'm apparently not in the "target" age bracket as some might think, e.g., over 40. It will serve as nice addition to my Miata Racing.net tees.:D

...this is to whom we would sell the most tee shirts.
Quick_lude 08-08-2003, 04:05 PM Would it be too much trouble to make two types of shirts? One with the Mazdaspeed RX-8 and one with a "regular" car on the back. Will you ship to Canada?
Lensman 08-08-2003, 04:09 PM I'd be happier with 'RX-8 Forum' but only because that's how I've always known it. We all talk about 'the forum' not 'the club'.
Quick_lude 08-08-2003, 04:11 PM If you want this RX8 community to grow it really should be called RX8 Club. The forum will become just a part of the club eventually, albeit the major one.
eccles 08-08-2003, 04:15 PM Put a regular RX-8 on the back (Winning Blue, preferebly, of course) and I'll take a T-shirt to wear to club meetings, autocrosses, and just generally out and about.
Produce a polo shirt with a front logo only, and I'll probably take one to wear to work as well.
mikeb 08-08-2003, 04:26 PM no polo for me, I don't want to wear a polo on my weekends or work in my car with a polo on
BOOSTD 7 08-08-2003, 05:03 PM So much complaining ...
I said there would be more designs coming, this is just #1. Certainly there will be ones for the old folks who are perfectly happy keeping things stock, as well as one for the nerds who want a nice polo. My, I prefer the punk kid style with the Mazdaspeed kit on it. Maybe a gang-banger shirt will come with 22" dubs on the car and air-suspension. Even then I'm sure there will be some demographic I've forgotten, and they'll make sure to post and complain.
And as I've stated in topics here and there, it's GOING to be rx8club.com in a couple weeks. We'll have a mod_rewrite in place so that no matter what you type (rx8club.com, rx8forum.com, rx-8forum.com) the URL gets transformed into rx8club.com. No more confusion, no more separate URL's. YOU WILL CONFORM!!!

The Master has spoken.
i remember it took me the longest time to go from rx7forum.com to rx7club.com, but I eventually got used to it. Others shall, too.

rotordude 08-08-2003, 07:26 PM Did you have to licence the RX-8 logo from Mazda for the Forum or for the t-shirts, or does Mazda not care about that stuff?
If so, how much per shirt is a licence fee to Mazda (out of curiousity)

BOOSTD 7 08-08-2003, 08:18 PM You guys need to lighten up ... forum n00bies. I thought I laid the cynicism on thick enough that it would be obvious I was joking, apparently not. Just relax, we'll have enough shirt styles to even satisfy the 70+ year old militant lesbian demographic.

I'll buy one, I'm 62 years young.

it's club people! get used to it!!
cruzdreamer 08-08-2003, 10:00 PM It's all good.......no worries. Not complaining......talk to 30 people...get thirty different comments....do what you like and don't worry about the comments. Mine were not meant to be negative.:p

:p I prefer long-sleeved t-shirts myself, or maybe jersey-style ones with 3/4 length sleeves. I'd definitely order if you make either of those styles! :D
The Beav 08-08-2003, 10:10 PM i'm game for a mazdaspeed t-shirt and a polo shirt

Wakeech,
I certainly hoped you and Lensman's posts were meant as sarcasistic jokes. Knowing both your previous posts, I take that to be true - just joking.
If you didn't take my post out of context, my main gripe wasn't whether it was an "old fogy" polo shirt or a "youngster" T-shirt. The primary issue was having a Mazdaspeed RX-8 on the back. I would at least expected you and Lensman would see that was the main issue inside of being just "smartasses". ;)
And yes, I am young enough in spirit to wear a T-shirt. Like I said before, I would prefer have a stock RX-8 on the back.

No: I sincerely do not prefer polo/golf style clothing. There was no sarcasm. I didn't like it when I was 15 and I don't like it now I'm 39. Just a personal preference. Hopefully both styles will be on offer to satisfy both camps.
M-ster 08-09-2003, 03:38 AM How about something for the ladies...:D

Well, then forgive me for concluding you were NOT an arse when you concurred with the latter part of Wakeech's "never mind square enough to want a polo/golf shirt" statement. I assumed you were also joking. Obviously I was wrong. Thanks for setting me straight.
I agree that more choices would be nice. Especially M-ster's ladies style.

Hmmm, this is fascinating. Really hit a raw nerve with you hasn't it. To be honest my mind had glossed over the 'square' comment when I read it as it was so inconsequential, I was more in tune with the preference concept but if 'square' is the worst thing you ever get called then my compliments on your happy life. Unfortunately 'arse' is NOT the worst thing I've ever been called... ;)
Seriously though: no offence meant on my part: each to their own. You'd hate the stuff I wear no doubt!

Hey Lensman, looks like you are pretty good with photo editing software too.
From your post name 'Lensman', would you happen to be a photographer??
Hmmm, about the marketing opportunity, I think we can try selling it to Mazda :D

Kind of, but the Manga movie you're thinking of bears as much relation to the series of books it's based on as the movie 'Pearl Harbour' bears to the historical event. I favour the novels!

I'm wanting a Club shirt(s) too and found another more recent thread on it if you're interested. http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=18331&perpage=15&highlight=polo&pagenumber Click on the last page and go down 2-3 posts for a recent update. I know I can't wait to get mine!
