Anyone from here going? I'm wondering if there is a caravan heading out there from the Austin area.

I don't know about the Rotary Rally, but I know that at least one person from Ft Worth is caravaning with me and another 8 owner from Louisiana to the Brotherhood of the Dragon event in September. Are you gonna try to make it to that also?

Well, while i'm here.
I had a few questions about the tail of the dragon.

First, so this is a very curvey public road. Is the road closed off to public traffic during the drives? Can the runs be timed or is this more of just a cruise with other cars?

If they were running time trials on this road.. i'd be there in a heartbeat.

Nope, open road.

In the past it has been a cruise, I even remember there being some type of law enforcement at the lunch stop. If you look at most of the enthusaist sites about the road it is patrolled regularly, however it seems that they are fairly lax on the enforcement as long as it isn't excessive.

Last year we did night runs and some of them were timed - nothing official, of course, just that a few of the 8 owners wanted to see how fast they could run 318 curves on the side of a mountain. It was quite a ride!

BUT IM SCARED!!!

Honestly though, i hate driving fast in public... 60mph in the right hand lane is how i roll. If we could set up radio check points to look for oncoming traffic... hmmm, that would be pretty smooth.

TAKAMI!!!
