I just purchased my 2005 rx8 and noticed it had these 4 rubber gromets that appear to attach to the frame rail underneath the car, mine are not attached,(found in glovebox) my car has the factory mazda areo kit installed. Is this why they weren't installed, or do I need to install them? Also what is the purpose of these rubber gromets, found no mention of them in the owners manual.

Used as an anchor point to tie the car down when loaded onto a flat bed. Grommets simply close up the hole when not in use.

Thanks for the replies guys, so it sounds like the I need to re-install these tie down rubber gromets, is that correct? Why only the two rear gromets on models after April 2005. Can this cause a corrosion problem if not re-inserted?

Yeah, the dealer should have done installed those before delivering the car. Only two because only two holes after that point.
