This may sound stupid, but i just realized something in my car. There is no new car smell. Maybe it was at the ports for so long it lost the smell. Yeah, its 2 in the morning and wanting to pass the time. dont mind me :)

yah, when i test drove the 8 weeks ago, I never noticed any new car smell....

I can't notice the new car plasticky smell, because all I smell is incredible leather!

Maybe you didn't smell anything because your mind was too busy soaking up the feeling of being incontrol of an awsome vehicle with some of the best handling in the world.

maybe the freestyle doors allow it to escape faster, since it's giving the smell a bigger opening to go through

...or maybe that smell is actually carcinogenic (ho ho ho, i know, bad joke), and car makers have tried their best to eliminate the chemicals which smell like that??

All I smell is that fine leather interior and the excitment that's dripping out of my pores. Speaking of that, I stink.

My new RX-8 simply REEKED of new car smell. It was so bad I had to run the A/C on recirc most of the time to get some fresh air and to keep from choking. Maybe it's the cloth seats?

mine has leather, but maybe I'm just the odd-ball out of the bunch ;).
