Inoticed this three gauge cluster @ corksport.com and was wondering if ne1 has installed it or had seen it in person yet. $1300 seems a little steep forthe guages but my 3000gt has as etup like this in the center console and i think it is great. feed back on aesthetics or functionality are all greatly apreciated.

Yes, these were mentioned some time ago when someone found them on a Japanese site. They certainly look good, but for $1300 you could buy a good set of VDO gauges with plenty left over for other projects.

Those are Defi gauges - that's about the Rolls-Royce of gauges, their stuff is SUPER bad-ass.

http://www.defi-shop.com/

Their gauges are pricey, but the quality is second to none. You actually buy a control box, and the gauges daisy-chain into the control box, and all the sensors plug into the box. Makes wiring a lot simpler and neater. The box has buttons for recording, playback, peak/hold, warning points, you name it.

They almost look like the new Defi-Link BF gauges, which are incredible. The aesthetics of the gauge would match the RX-8 very well.

If you were to buy those gauges (water temp, oil temp, and oil pressure) with the control unit from gruppe-s.com (best prices on gauges) it would run you about $770. Ouch. So, the price isn't too off-base.

I know what you're thinking - "shoot, I can get an Autometer gauge that will do the same thing for $40!". I wouldn't trust my lawnmower with an Autometer gauge. If you see a good Japanese gauge in person and compare it, you'll understand - quality weathertight connectors, quality sensors, excellent lighting....I could go on and on. On my 10th Anniversary RX-7 I've got about $1000 worth of Greddy gauges in it. When you run an engine at the edge, you need good data to monitor and control the system.

I spotted the Mazdaspeed digital guage pod some where.

Can you guys in the US get them through the dealerships yet....??

Aussie dealers give you dumb looks or get rude when you appear to know more than they do.
