View Full Version : crap im so pissed off
eclps0 08-06-2003, 03:14 PM im going on vacation on thursday to fl and keys. But the worst thing to happenof all days my damm caar will be in on friday and im leaving thursday and the car will be in . damm i was waiting for months fro this car and it has to come in while i will be obn vacation for 2 weeks. Now when im in fL this is what i will be thinking about.
ohh on another note with the dyno stuff going on i talked to the service rep at my dealer and he said bring the car in to get tested and if theres something wrong with the ecu they will reflash it to fix the bugs/problems after break in.

Perhaps they can put 'Gran Turismo' in there. That might help... What exactly will they flash it with?! Perhaps they've custom written their own embedded software after months of development? Yes, that sounds likely.
eclps0 08-06-2003, 03:30 PM but i hope this problem ges fixed i didnt wait for a couple of months to get a 220 hp sports car i had 4 choices
rx8
s2000
350z
bmw z4
i picked rx8 for the rotary and the looks speed handling the whole package but when i chose the rx8 it was supposed to have 250 not 220 but i have faith in mazda this problem will get fixed. Because sometime down the road i i want to cart or race f1 for mazda.
Lensman 08-06-2003, 03:37 PM It'll be resolved, I have faith. It's early days on this subject but things will work out for the best eventually. Once Mazda get properly involved then all will be well. Hopefully.

hahaha... sorry, but unless Bernie and Max get their heads out of their arses and let the wankel into F1, that'll never happen (not to mention having Mazda grow by a factor of ten in the next 5 - 10 years for your career window in a professional racing series).
eclps0 08-06-2003, 04:06 PM if i wouldnt be able to do cart or f1 for mazda i would also love to road courses auto x i love the thrill of speed and danger. and why not do it leagly.

Bernie's head isn't very far from his arse which makes that outcome so much more unlikely!
(Mr Eccleston is not a very tall gentleman for those who don't follow this.)

Don't you just hate it when you give a great smart-ass reply and it turns out you're the one that is wrong? :p
Check out http://www.mazdatechinfo.com - Mazda's 2004 models (i believe RX-8 and Mazda6) have an ECU that can be flashed by the dealer with ECM reprogramming codes downloaded from that site.

Gordon
P00Man 08-06-2003, 04:18 PM why is it again that the rotary is banned from f1 comp?

Find someone who can pick it up for you so at least it is sitting in your garage and NOT in the dealer lot where it will have a 80% chance of getting test driven the hell out of.

Only if I am: I long ago noticed that webpage (see the 2nd post here (http://www.rx8forum.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=8100) ) and it's ECM potential. I'll bet you that there are NO RX-8 options for some time though. Certainly not yet.

...everything outside of a 3.0L NA V10 is banned. supposed "cost reduction" of the sport *rolleyes... HARD!!*
pelucidor 08-06-2003, 04:37 PM Why the rolling eyes - everyone knows F1 is all about cost savings, as evidenced by $10k helmets and $50k+ steering wheels.

What I think he meant was that there wouldn't be a fix if Mazda doesn't admit there is a problem and fix it. So they would be flashing it with the same program that is already loaded on it, unless they (the garage) have produced their own fix/program.
StealthTL 08-06-2003, 04:42 PM But back to your original problem, Mr. 'E'
Tell your folks you will join them in three days at Key West. Don't they trust you to handle the pick-up and the trip by yourself?
You seem pretty trustworthy if you are getting the '8'.....
Go for it!
