Congrats Wing!

So'd you end up telling off the dealer, or what? :D

BTw, from some other topic, you'll probably be getting something in the 300 to 375 km range, per tank. My first tank that I really drained, while taking it easy on the car, I got 375, but it took 51+ Litres to fill it afterward, and the low fuel warning light had been on for a bit.

BTW, I may head up to Ottawa later this summer for a couple of days on vacation.

375? That's it?

WOW that would be 14liters / 100Km approximately.

Should be better than that. But of course it depends on how you drive. It's rated at 12L / 100km. city and 10 highway. I'm hoping to get CLOSE to that. I was able to BLOW AWAY the ratings on my tiburon, I drive granny style when I am not in a hurry :)

Heck I'm using 6th gear in the city :)

I went back to Bank St today to see both the blue and titanium to compare and help me commit to a colour :p I mentioned to him that I wanted to compare the colours since I have a deposit on a Titanium that is due end of August (more likely end of September) but could change to blue (later delivery of course). All the guy could do is badmouth Argus saying that all the allocations are in and that they are BSing me that a car will arrive in August/September cause the next cars to arrive won't be until December and tried to get me to get one from that allotment. From my previous experience with them combined with Wings and Fritzman's odoseys I have decided never to buy anything from this dealership or get any service done there.

I didn't tell them to f it because I got my rate FINALLY! I had to go back today but I got my lower rate!

So EVERYONE knows BMO will offers 6.79% up to 84 months!

If the dealer says no, they are LIEING!

MAC,

I dealt with Performance Mazda in Orleans. Although I did pay full price, they did not make any efforts to gouge extra. I found my salesman helpful (for a salesman). His name was Marcel.

If you are looking for another place to check, you could try there. I think that they still have a titanium coming later (but I don't know GS or GT). The red automatic they had coming in sold today.

PM me if you have any other questions.

-Mark

Ok, Bank St. called and I expressed my issues with them. The girl wrote it all down. She was surprised at the finance guy's LIEING! I told her that he finally met his match in the negotiating department. Most customers don't know anything, and well I do.

Poor guy, hope he gets FIRED!

Hi Mark,

I am quite happy with Argus, they don't know much about the 8 (par for the course for Ottawa :() but they have never tried to BS their way thru. They think that they will receive my titanium by the end of the month but that's only because they don't know how long it takes to ship. I think the car will be built by the end of the month but it won't be here until sometime this September. I have been to performance an they knew even less then Argus and the sales rep tried to bs their way through the sale and asked for a $1k down (not refundable - although I would have been able to kill that without too much effort) but the main reason for not purchasing through them is that they won't be getting a 6spd titanium GT no nav until December. Argus has one coming in with the moon roof, so I put a deposit on it.

I'd like to try and make it out as well with my little one (4) who's been bugging me every day for the last two weeks if I brought an RX-8 home.

BTW, my name is Fritz (surprised?) ;)

No toys, unless you count the wax and towels toys, it was $70 for the gunk to make that car shine!

Ok, I'll be there! hopefully I can get home, wash my car (it's FILTHY from the rain) and then get over there, shouldn't be a problem. But I also have a garage door opener I want to install.

I'll do it when I get back.

Zaino?

BTW, where did you get your towels, were they any good, and were they pre-cut to good sizes?

I've had troubles finding good absorbent towels for drying the car off. I generally buy 100% cotton, made in the USA/Canada bath towels, and then rip them into 3's. The only problem being that they fray like a mofo and get lint on my car.

I've had decent luck with the Simoniz 100% cotton ones for detailing but they're small and are no good for drying off the car.

Thanks,
Elmer.

Elmer,

Have you tried microfiber towels? They suck up water really well, with no streaks or lint and won't scratch the paint.

I use some artificial drying sheet, "The Absorber" I think, and then use a microfiber towel for all the little bits.

And they come in fairly nice sizes, like 15" by 15".

Yes nice meeting you both, an Fritzman too.

I picked up the terry cloth towels at canadian tire for waxing. I use a shammy for drying, I have a real one and an artificial one, both seem to work equally well.

I think I should have bought the microfiber towels though the terry cloth (although that is what the bottle of wax said to use), leaves some lint behind. But they were new, they should be better after a wash.
