there was a link from one of the ferrari forum to this site, someone had posted in this lounge that they had some tag heuers for sale. I can seem to find the thread now, it was working earlier. can anyone help me find it? I need a good watch for driving, and thats what a tag heuer is good for.

It was Hollywood7. I'm sure the thread has been removed since the sale of personal items is not allowed.

Hmmm... Clint is a pretty smart guy... and we drove the "cannonball" earlier this month... ;)

Yes, it's been gonzo'ed.

Tag is good for diving? I wondered what such a cheap quartz watch would be good for!

Tag is the triumph of branding iver common sense - how can you get $1k for a steel battery powered toy watch? :hahano:

He said "driving" not diving, unless the original poster mispelled the word.

A beater watch? What kind of people do you hang with where you have to be concerned with the brand of watch you're wearing?

The Ferrari people I know (one family actually) all own about a half-dozen different Rolex watches each.

Ferrari people. Kinda reminds me of the 'Fast and the Furious'

Brian: What's the retail on one of those?
Ferrari Driver: More than you can afford pal. Ferrari.

could be scam fakes bought from a street vendor in Iraq. Real Tags are not cheap. what were they selling for?

Cannonball - forget about the watch post. RX8Club forum rules are very clear - NO selling of stuff in the forums. No selling, buying, want to buy, etc - there is a forum section for RX-8s for sale/wanted, and a section for RX-8 products and accessories for sale/wanted, and those are the only sections where for sale and wanted posts can be made - and, again, only if RX-8 related. The Sennheiser RX-8 watches could be posted - TAG watches can not.

We consider that type of post (First ever post, "I got a couple of watches for sale!" ) to be spam. Spam gets deleted, spammers get banned. There are plenty of other forums for discussing or buying watches, we would invite you to use those forums for those topics! (Maybe even the Ferrari forum... ;) )

Gordon

Well I have a TAG from the late-80's, back when they were still cool. ;) Dropped about $300 getting it refurb'd about two years ago. If I were so inclined, I could easily sell it for more than I invested on eBay.

Knowing what I know now, I wouldn't buy another, since you can buy legitimate mechanical Swiss watches for the same price. Of course quartz watches are more accurate... But nowhere near as cool. And I don't think it's too much to assume that many like their RX's for the coolness factor as much as anything else. I live by my watch yet somehow find the time to reset it every few days to make sure it's accurate!
