I work as a GSM in a mazda dealership and would like
some feed back in regards to the spare tire option.
Is this something will be in high demand? Reason for
this question is cost factor.

I originally ordered the spare tire... but now I'm going to have it taken off of my list of options. I still would like a spare tire, but it is just mounted in completely the wrong spot.

I ordered an 8 from a dealer in Ft Lauderdale. I did not want the spare tire package, but my car is coming with it. I spoke with my sales man and it will be removed. I just need the extra room in the truck.

I ordered mine with it, because we plan on taking this car far out into the countryside where a can of fix-a-flat and a cell phone may not be sufficient in an emergency. However, it does take up quite a bit of room, and does obscure the interior trunk light.

For urban dwellers and folks who stick to the well-travelled path, the Instant Mobility Kit and Mazda's Roadside Assistance Plan is probably quite sufficient.
