I think you guys in the US will get a Shinka II or similarly named, stock could of already landed in the US and in bond store, Mazda NAO may be waiting on the right time to media/public release it.. Just a thought?

 

yes there will be a 'Shinka' package available for the North American market... it'll no longer be just the 'Shinka RX-8', rather, it becomes a 'special package' a la all those Special Edition Miatas.

 

And those mirrors are heated too! Very handy for this place.

Saw a Shinka II at the Tokyo Motorshow. The Copper Red is not just hot, but HAWT! I love it. Too bad it only comes in the Shinka package. That Sand and Alcantara interior is ****. It looked horrible on day 2 of the public opening. Just image it in your daily driver... especially with kids..

 

This thing is a little different to our Limited Edition RX-8 Revelation......the Revelation has no additional badging, and misses out on MS mirrors.

 

We get the watch!

No mention on the ITV site on the Smart keyless entry and engine start system which we also get with the Revelation.

I would rather have the watch and entry system than a poxy stick on badge and MS mirrors.

Aren't all RX-8 exterior mirrors heated? All the Australian RX-8 ones are......

Or....are these MS mirrors special because normal MS mirrors aren't??

 

only the highest package in the states has the heated mirrors.

 

Well.....since your RX-8's only cost a few nickels, I suppose that's only fair.

 

I'd swap the poxy watch for the strakes, rotary crest and exhaust finishers that the Evolve gets, and the Revelation doesn't.

 

Wonder why they are now spelling EVOLV with an E on the end? Is it like saying "colour" vs "color" ???

 

Are the side mirrors the "new" ms mirrors? I thought they are just the european sport mirrors that was offered since the 8s came out.

 

I'll tell you where this Mazdaspeed mirror thing may have come from. I presume that Zoom44 may have got some of his information from my post on rx8ownersclub.co.uk.

I'd got the information from my local dealer here in the UK. The salesman was reading out the spec to me over the phone. He described the mirrors as "sports aero-style heated mirrors without puddle lights". These, to me sounded very like the Mazdaspeed mirrors I'd seen, so I asked him "Ah, so are those the MazdaSpeed ones then?" to which he replied "Yes".

When I posted my info on rx8ownersclub, I did write that I had asked him that question and what he replied. It's possible he didn't really know. So until we hear from someone that's actually seen one of these "Evolves", we aren't going to know for sure.

we call those mazdaspeed mirrors since those are what came on the mazdaspeed car in japan. i did not get any of the info from UK club or i would have noted it as the source as i have in the past. all the info came from the article i linked to in my first post. that article is from ITV which is where the pic is linked from also.

But looking at the photo there, it's a bit small, but I'd say that that copper red definitely looks like it has the very mirrors we're talking about. We need a bigger pic, like this one:

 

Whatever they call it, it's still nicer than the our stock ones. I find it funny that they would call it the mazdaspeed though. Like I said earlier, they offered this as an option already..at least in Switzerland. If this is the new ms mirrors, then I've got one 2 years in advance.

 

they were the MS mirrors 3 years ago when the first Mazdaspeed edition was done in japan. which is long before they showed up in the accessory catalog

I'm aware of the ms (Ganador) mirrors. The ones on the copper red car is slightly different. The stalks are longer. I'm just not aware that the original mirrors we're talking about is also considered the ms ones.

I'm not arguing with anyone, just curious.

Have you personally seen the watch? How is the quality? My shinka was a JDM version. It got everything except no badge or MS mirrors but i get the paddle lights.
