But I think the whole idea of regional lounges to be completely idiotic. There's no reason to hole up in our respective silos instead of mingling with our non-regional brethren.. Yes, most "regional" lounge posters never post in the real lounge.. and I for one will not support this.

well they turned off post count in the main lounge years ago. i wasn't even a mod then but i still have fun in there. :)

we've had a lot of people deliberately starting these threads just so they can post whore because they can't get their post counts up in the actual lounge. Not cool. It's happened one too many times so we're kinda on edge about it.

And guys, I can't leave this as a sticky- we've also had problems with the actual meet threads being bumped too far down so no one sees them, so we had agreed not to sticky them.

i think the regional forum helps...for example if I was a new rx8 owner in florida and needed to find a good mazda tech in florida would someone in chicago be able to provide that info ....what about if there was a meet in south florida would someone in cali be able to tell me when and where...I think not...however if I needed to get general info on parts or just see what else is going on then I would visit other forums that deal in those topics...so I think this is a good idea everyone in welcome but only people in florida can relate to what happens here...
