I'm considering getting a set of 245/45/17 tires to put on my winter wheels for the track. I have Dunlop SP SS Race on my stock wheels right now, but I'm looking at using these (lighter) winter wheels, since they're just sitting around for most of the year.

I'm flexible on brand, as I'd be looking for a good deal on new or lightly used (>60% tread) tires. The tires I'd prefer, roughly in order, are:

Toyo RA-1s, Hoosier (hard compound), Kumho (Victoracers, Ecsta V700s, V710s), Yokohama (A048, A032R, hard compound), Avon (Tech R, Tech R-A), Dunlop SP SS Race, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup, Pirelli PZero Corsa, Hankook (whatever the R-comp is), Falken Azenis.

I would want 4 of all the same tire, all with similar wear. It's ok if one edge is worn more than the other. I'll flip them.

I don't want wheels, unless someone wants to trade for a set of Sport Edition Fox 5's (5 double spokes) with Dunlop Graspic DS-2 winter tires with about 65-70% tread.

Let me know if you've got anything for me!
Thanks.

Not exactly what you were looking for, but Hoosier has their discontinued tires on sale. There are 255/45/17 R3S04 (hard compound) for around $140 IIRC.

They should work OK for you.

Thanks a lot John... I'm mulling this over and trying to decide. It's a killer deal!

you might see if Pedalfaster has any leftover Kumho V710s from his Pooche 968
