Does anyone know if the rear windows on the RX-8 can roll down? Seems to me they should. Who cares about the people in the back anyways??

Perhaps this answers your question :)

I don't think they will roll down, there might be a chance that they pop out though.. remains to be seen however.

That takes care of that, doesn't it! I think Mazda will have to get some roll down windows in there somewhere, I hope.

If you look at some of the spy photo's, it suggests that there MIGHT be flip outs on the later developments... but at this point stuff like that can be changed... personally I'd like them to open... but only it it's electric... you need to be able to do it from the front.

Grimace, I think you missed your calling in life. You should have been a tech writer!:)

Does those two bugs are couple? one on the red 8 was female and another on the silver 8 was male:D They wanted get a RX-8, too. Improbable, a bug can't stick on the window while the car is going over 40 miles on the street, i think.

There was talk about this already in another thread. Basically, you have to realize that all of these cars are pre-production. IIRC, the yellow car making all of the shows doesn't even have an engine or finished trunk in it. So, some details like movable rear windows might be omitted.

The silver car is the closest thing to production so far, so we know where they're headin', but we can't be sure where they'll end up yet. Especially if they don't know yet.

Hey Herculese, where did you get that picture? Have not seen it before. But thanks.

As mentioned above, All the pics seen are of pre-production cars. Although the grey car pictured above is the most recent.

I would love to have some rear ventilation. With the front windows open and no rear ventilation, you end up with a lot of wind buffeting (like in my current Beretta). Small features like pop outs would help with this. My 1986 Nissan 200SX (damn, I miss that car) had them, and they were great to have on nice crisp days.

The card slot, is/was for a smart card ignition system which we are pretty convinced will NOT feature in the final production version.

It was suggested that you could program things such as engine performance as well as possibly other parameters into the card.

For the prototype it was a 'smart card', kind of like a key... but it would put your radio presets in, your seat settings, etc....

Isn't in the production model.

To answer your question, look at the little circle in the rear window :)

A definite pop-out window - just look at the lines around it. Me like - but will it be power-openable by the driver?
