Hello all,
I just got my 8 a few months ago and I live in the Cen. Fl area,
-
I know where the 50's diner is, so I might be able to join up and meet some other 8 owners, if I have some free time after work on Feb 18.

I'd go
That's a good location, not too far from where I used to live. I live in Melbourne now, but I drive into Orlando pretty much every weekend to take my daughter to visit her grandparents.
maybe but there will definately be people at this one https://www.rx8club.com/se-rx-8-forum-30/march-4th-clearwater-mazda-ybor-party-78997/ and the dealership is offering a deal on MS stuff.
DOn't mean to threadjack.

I might be down for that bro, I'm in SW Florida in Cape Coral but have a brother up there. I could make a weekend out of it. Fun to party up there anyway. How cool would it be if we all rode out to a club and pulled up pimp'n in a line??? LOL Awesome! Let me know if anything changes... I'll try to make plans to get up there.

I am the founder and president of the SOFLA RX CLUB here in Miami. I read your post where you say that you have already formed an RX Club in central florida but I noticed that you refer to it as : FLRX8CLUB ... The "8" is in there so to me it doesnt convey to the owners of rotary powered vehicles.
When I first started the club here in Miami that caters to Dade, Broward and Palm Beach counties I had some good feedback and most were negative because initially it was called the SO FLA RX7 CLUB... well RX-8 owners didnt think it was too cool to exclude them since after all they also have rotary motor in their 8's. We took a vote and surprisingly enough the 7's owners felt that it should be unilateral and cater to the masses. SO we dropped the 7 in the RX and it has worked out well. There were a total of 14 RX-8's that showed up to the Markham Park Meet back in December 2005.
So calling it FLRX8CLUB is not the same as saying that it is for all rotary powered vehicles... if that is the case why dont you make it all little more uniformly and drop the 8 out of its name.
I have given Tony of CEN FLA RX CLUB my full support to establish it as a branch of the SO FLA RX CLUB here in Miami. We have some great events planned for this coming year and I will be attending some of the meets in the near future.
My intent is not to step on anyone's toes but I honestly feel that the name should change so it doesnt single out a particular type of rotary powered vehicle but instead really cater to all of the rotary powered cars... after all it would be easily conveyed and represented in its name instead as ... FLRXCLUB
