Now that I've got a few hundred miles on the clock, I've noticed that when I first start it from cold in the morning, there is a distinctly different sound from the intake. It's a sort of hollow, "open throated" sort of noise, sounding rather like a leak, and it goes away abruptly after about 20 seconds or so.
I assume it's because the system is opening a more direct intake tract which bypasses the muffling of the air filter assembly, but only when the engine is below a certain temperature. (Though here in Texas it's never going to be "stone cold" - our current overnight lows are in the mid-70's.)
Curious, and I thought worthy of a comment. Has anyone else noticed this behaviour?
