Now this is tempting, a mint RX-7 (http://www.autoscout24.de/home/index/detail.asp?ts=4763405&id=ffugtkpk2gm&source=as24_inseratsg_detail_ueberschrift) for sale ... if EUR 44.000 wasn't such a lot of money:

Yeah there is one here in the states that shows up on ebay every few months and nobody every bids it up high enough. I think they want $23k for it. Not a bad price and if it is still for sale in 6 months I may get it instead of the 8 . . . very difficult decision actually.

I don't know if there really is such a thing as a "mint" condition FD RX-7 in the US. I've seen a '95 that was supposedly never registered (AT unfortunately), with very very little miles on it. The asking price was $30K or something. But even then, it's still over 10 years old. Age takes its natural toll on seals & hoses etc., and driving a car too little also isn't a good thing. My parents have a 11 year old Mercedes that they rarely drive, parts break down simply because they don't drive it enough.

Everywhere but the US (I think) the 7 sold until 2002. So you could find a mint one somewhere.

Very nice. I didn't know that you could get the black interior with the Montego Blue, but I sure love it!

The description says the interior is grey rather than black, but on the picture it looks black to me too.

In other markets like Australia and the UK, it lasted longer than in the US, mainly because it was easy for Mazda to export their JDM right hand drive versions to these countries. But I believe even in these markets the 7 died some time in the late '90s. Problem is these cars aren't US legal, so we're stuck with our 14-11 year old beaters.

I thought that the only interior color was tan leather. I've never seen a base or R1/2 in Montego blue, which would explain the black.
