I live in San Francisco (California) and on Saturday had to go to San Mateo, about 15 miles south. I decided to try out my new disk and find the address in San Mateo. I went to enter "San Mateo" and the disk didn't have it as an option. So, I tried the zip code. According to the disk, there is no such zip code.

San Mateo isn't THAT small, and the original disk found much smaller towns. Anyway, I tried "San Francisco". Not a big city, only about 750,000 population, but big enough to be recognized. No such city! Tried my zip code-- doesn't exist.

Tried some names of restaurants, and the disk showed me ones about 2,000 miles away.

The gps works great, showing exactly where the car is, but the search function is way off. I checked the version and it is for North America, so I figure that San Francisco should be on it.

Any ideas?

You probably have it set in the wrong region

That's what my wife said. I looked on the menu and can't find a way to change the region.

It is in the system setup area somewhere. When I get in my car I will look and tell you exactly where it is.

Its a region thing. Look in the nav manual. I am driving a rental for work this week, otherwise I would go do it in mine and post it up.
