Anyone know of some tracks/road corses in the Charlotte area?

Rockingham opened up it's infield as a road course in '05 after losing it's NASCAR gig. I personally haven't run it yet, but several of my friends have, and thought well of it.

Lowes Motor Speedway also hosts some event outside the NASCAR series.

Carolina Motorsports Park is also nearby in SC. It's a small facility, but is supposed to be quite challenging and rather hard on brakes.

You're also an easy drive away from VIR to the north, Roebling Rd. and Road Atlanta to the south.

VIR is a first class facility and is a great place to watch as well as drive. Roebling is a teaching track and is excellent also.

If we're all lucky, the proposed Highrock Raceway outside of Lexington, NC will open in '07. I'm not holding my breath on that one, however. It's been on shaky ground for the last year or so.

Rockingham is fun. NASA-SE (http://www.nasa-southeast.com) will be runnng there a few times this year. I have some videos from that track in my signature.
