It'd be a hell of a lot more if they'd just ship the %^$^ cars to the dealers a bit faster.

Mazda 626 sales are down 98% for the month compared to the previous year's same month, down 93% for the year compared to last year. 95% & 85%, respectively for Millenia. Actually irrelevant since they are discontinued models. But all models that existed since last year, except the Tribute are down double digits in the two above categories. Read the website indicated in the first post for more.

Sheesh, thank heavens for Mazda 6 and RX-8. If it weren't for these two cars, Mazda would probably go down in a year. If the RX-8 sells really well, (which it has been, base on data from Japan) then we can look forward to the next RX-7 that will shake things up. :D Remember, Mazda - reliability and competitive price!

Good post, Skyline.

I would have to add the Protege in there too. It has been a good seller, has shone good reliability in the last few years, and has got some good press.

I have owned previous Mazda's in the past (323, 626), and now own a 2002 Protege and now the RX-8. I can definately see better fit and finish on these cars then those of the past. And my Protege has been trouble free for over a year.

You're right about reliability and competitive price. It's not only a crucial factor for all manufacturers, but especially for Mazda to get back on the right track.

I also agree with you Skyline Maniac. I really hope Mazda's sales shoot through the roof. I am thoroughly convinced that the RX-8 is a vehicle built to show Ford rotories are viable. Once they get the green light, Mazda will jump on the 4th gen RX-7. I can't wait!

Mazda are releaseing a ton of new cars, 6, rx8, 2 etc. And they all seem to be good , competative cars.

Yeah, I love the 6 and the RX-8, but I'm not too sure about the new 3. I only saw a frontal view, but I wasn't impressed. I really like the current protoge. From what I understand, the new 3 will be built off of the new Focus chassis. I just really want to see Mazda do well... and bring out another RX-7!

I am in great support of the Mazda and its ventures with RX-8 sales. A new RX-7 would be outstanding. I think, though, that some people are putting too much emphasis on sales figures for July. Don't get too enthusiastic until a the 8 has a couple of months of sales figures under its belt. Every unique/new car, considering it is a good car and popular, has outstanding sales numbers early on. Just look at the 350z, people couldn't get one for months. Now I go to dealers and they are just sitting around. Lets all hope for the best for Mazda, but don't jump to conclusions by just the first months sales numbers. Though personally, I believe the rx-8 has outstanding potential if the people put their trust in the new renesis rotary. If this happens, the rx-8 will succeed. After all, the rx-8 is one of the best looking most attention grabbing cars on the road today.

GGREEN where did you get your numbers from? I believe Mazda is doing alot better then that. On another note I like the support and the confidence you all have for mazda it is very refreshing.

Mental Pimp, the Millennia did do well for Mazda in the 2001 2002 model years. I tracked it as I too owned one. Their sales are down now though from where they were and that high figure is evidence of the way they were!

Edmunds said that the Millennia was about a 4000 unit worldwide (annua) production - little demand. Consider the figures during the last two years of production - around 12-14K annually !!!!!! A over 3X more produced per year than ever before. It just never got any publicity

You're forgetting about the Miata, which has always shown strong sales for Mazda since its release

Unfortunately Miata sales continue to slide as that chassis continues to age. I think this masterpiece of a machine only needs a price adjustment to fight off its ever increasing competition. I look forward to the next generation but obviously not as much as to a new RX-7.
By the way when do the add campaigns begin for the 8? I suspected that they were delayed due to the HP thing.

I think it's wonderful how Mazda's doing with their sales. However, in light of the new HP information, I just hope that Mazda will learn to ante up and 'fess up if there is some kind of discrepancy. I too, would love to see either a drop in price or a performance/body restyling of the Miata. The RX-7 is an absolute dream of mine

JUST AS IT IS FOR MANY OTHERS HERE AND ELSEWHERE, MAZDA
(hope they heard that...)

I DO happen to like the look of the new 3, anticipating what possible powertrain modifications could be added to what I feel is an already beautifully styled car. But even based on the sales numbers and what my own financial situation would permit, I would even be one to add to numbers of Tribute owners that I saw listed in the articles above. Mazda is on the up-an-up, hopefully this HP issue and MAZDA'S LEARNING EXPERIENCE from it will guarantee a 4th gen '7 and will continue to boost the recovery for Mazda's Millennium Plan.

Wht are you waisting everyone's time posting sales figures for a car they stopped importing forevr, several months ago (Milennia, I owned one)and another car that has been replaced by the Mazda^.

Sorry, but haven't you got better things to do with your time?:o

Your right bowanna about posting on other cars. I was just replying to the 4 posts regarding the Millennia and those few that spoke of Mazda sales overall.
