I got a price quote of $200 without the cable/bolts. What did you pay?

Did Trussville include the cable lock with the cover? They don't list it on their web site.

That price is just for the cover. I got a few items from Trussville today. Car Cover, Oil Filters, MP3 Player with trim panel, Trunk Lock with key set (embarrassing story....just let it be), touch up paint. I figured I would wait to see if I really needed the cable and lock from Mazda.

Yo Gyro, would that be water resistant or waterproof?

I think the term was "water resistant". the fabric is called Stormshield. It was water proof for the first rainstorm, lets see how long it stays that way.;)

How bulky is the car cover? The last time I had a car cover it was a pain to clean because I had to find a laundromat with a big industrial sized washing machine. Would the RX-8 car cover fit in a regular sized washing machine? My washing machine at home is rather small, so I'm guessing I probably wouldn't be able to wash it at home. I tried asking a local dry cleaning place if they could clean something large like a car cover and the person there couldn't give me an answer without seeing the item first, but I haven't decided if I want one yet.

Looks great. I would like it but it is so expensive compared to ones in the store. The endura based covers are about $60.

Holly Sh*t, my dealer quote me $250 and they said they already give me a discount. Original price is $350.

With great resources like this forum, it doesn't take much searching to find out the Mazda list price is $250 for the cover. I'd be looking for a different dealer/source pronto if I were Fd3s800! ;)

elx13,

I bought one of the early covers like gyro and it does fit very snug. I've had no issues with it ever coming off.

I got my cover right after some asshole stole the RX-8 and Mazda logos from the back of the car, two nights after I got the car  . If the dealer stocked the cover and I got the car before the parts department closed, it wouldn't have been an issue (the dealer knew I wanted the cover). Fortunately the dealer replaced the logos for free.

The cover is about 1/4 the weight of the old cover I had for my '91 RX-7. It isn't fully water resistent, since when I get up in the morning, there is condensation on the windows (a lot of it) under the cover. The fit is real good, although I haven't tried using it since I got the spoiler put on.

The instructions state that using something like WaterPel on the stitching will make the cover completely waterproof. As for condensation on your windows...there ain't NO stopping that unless the area under your cover is a vacuum, or you keep the car in an area with a more stable temperature (e.g. garage).

I can say the cover works well with the spoiler.
