The 8 is so sexy and original. It's an INDEPENDEDNT car....their is no UPGRADE 8 with higher HP... and a bigger spoiler...or a ho0d sco0p that makes it look different!

Was speaking over the weekend with some of the guys from Phoenix Power - who've just recently begun racing STi's - they're absolutely in love with them. I couldn't get them to shut-up about it if I wanted to.

personally i liek sti pre facelift and i think srt's are ugly as sin but i've seen a hahn racecraft stg4 srt that was just sooo retardedly fast it was amazing. but all in all the two cars are incredible in their own way along with the evo much easier to upgrade than 8, and will more than likely outperform in real world circumstances. i think the 8 only has looks up on the others, oh and handles better than srt

I like the new WRX design when I saw it in person, but I just can't get pass the Alfa-romeo nose. It destroys the lines of the car. I don't understand why the ex-alfa designer had to add that to the WRX, It's a Subaru! Stupid.

What Mitsu, subbie, and dodge did was take a base car and put all the extra after market goodies on it that you would have, if you were modding it to hell, then sold it to you as a stock car. The car companies modded them for you before you bought it. Make no mistakes, they did an awesome job on each, but in reality they are just heavily modded wrx's, lancer's, and neons, which also contributes to the fact that though they are nice cars, they get little respect for what they are....

I'll wait and see what a heavily modded rx8 can do, then compare them...

I'm sure when they design the wrx/Sti and lancer/Evo they know there will be a high performance version and take that into consideration. It is NOT the same as modding a car. The cars are designed by the manufacturers to be what they are, the fact that they share a platform only reduces costs. I'm sure Ike knows more about the innards of the design process, but I can't imagine they design the 2.5RS then after say "hey lets make it go faster". They know from the beginning and thus must account, by design, for what they want all three models to accomplish.

IMO, the best looking Impreza is the 98-2001 Impreza 2.5RS Coupe, with that stock wing. It's a classic design, still looks good, and if I ever go broke and have to sell the RX-8, I would find me one of those in the blue ridge pearl color.

You don't need to put other cars down in order to love the 8. Beside, your logic is seriously flawed. It is like saying the 8 is better than the M5 or the RS4 becasue they are just upgrades of the normal 5 series or A4. RX-8 owners love the 8 for what it is. i have to agree with some of you, the evo and Sti have been out for a while they upgrades of other cars. but the sad part is that no matter how much upgrade mazda throws at the Rx8 its not gonna get much better. sad but true any lil shit they do to the 8 will mess up the eveness of the car. and im sure if mazda does the upgrades none of us can afford it either. that why they made a shitka lets lower the weight of the car and make a weird color and people will buy!

MY98 WRX and the MY98 WRX STi coupe were the best looking Subaru WRXs. I use to have one MY98 Clubspec Evo 2 to be precise... and it was modded. The current STi or WRX seems too squarish with a gnarly front end treatment. The front grill reminds me of an Edsel... another toilet seat design. :Eyecrazy:

The STI is not what I would call "good looking" but as you know it is fast. I'm in the “who cares how fast it is if it's not that good looking” camp...but I'm also in the “don't look hot and then punk out on power” camp either.

So, I got the RX8 instead of the WRX (and a bunch of other cars…my list is out there some place) because it does everything a sports car should do while looking real good too.

Not the fastest and I would love another 50HP, but the fun to drive factor of the car and how it treats it's owner bring me many a smile. Also...it's fast enough for 99% of my driving so another 50HP would just add more smiles to the smile-fest I have with my 8.
