We need some RX-8 FORUM window stickers or decals so we can identify one another on the road, and promote the forum. Something like the picture and logo at the top left of the "old school style set". Does anyone on the forum do decals or stickers?

I think that is a great idea, the Forum could be the beginnings of a Worldwide owners club.

good ol' EASTMOON made up a "WWW.RX8FORUM.COM" logo for his car. :)

good way to make some extra cash for the bandwidth and server upgrades ! ;)

then maybe in the future rx8forum caps, mugs, t-shirts, key chain, you ge the idea! :p

The sticker of RX-8 FORUM.COM for the body sides is already running on the road of Japan. :D

I agree, sounds like a great idea! I'm sure we have some people who've given it some thought and have some ideas...maybe a sticker design contest ;) Now if only I can get the car to put the sticker on :p

I actually know some people that do engraving. If there's enough interest, I don't mind having a few (a dozen to start?) made up. Of course, I'd need BOOSTD's permission since I'm not sure if the logo is copyrighted or not. We could put the RX-8 Forum logo at the top and www.rx8forum.com along the bottom. Actually, you generally have more room on the bottom so maybe that would be the other way around, but anyway, if the interest is there, I'll be happy to look into getting it done.

a brushed aluminum license plate holder with the url at the bottom would be fantastic. I'd also like that more than a sticker.

Actually, we're rx8club.com ... not rx-8forum.com or rx8forum.com ... and soon there will be a mod_rewrite to make all the 'other' domains I've accumulated go to rx8club.com so there won't be any confusion.

Give me 2 weeks and there will be a full line of RX-8 Stuff available. T-shirts, stickers, license plate frames, etc

i'd certainly say, from a cost-to-profit ratio, and the fact that everyone can rationalize collecting another tee shirt, that it would be the best option.

Wow, I had forgotten about this thread. Well, I checked with my buddy and they don't have the right machinery to put a logo on the license plate frame, just letters. I'll search around the net a little to see what I can find (and what I can get a group discount on).

Can we come to a consensus of what the frame should look like?

Took RotorMotor's idea and hand made myself one license plate holder :D And this is how it look like, I'm in a bit hurry so it looks a bit gheto :)

Hey great idea. I like the frame, not a big sticker fan.

Is there some way we could leave some room so we can put our screen name/username/id on there? Maybe a white spot so I could write it with a sharpie? So we could say "Hey eskimo, I saw you..."

OK, I agree the custom license plate is a great idea. My vote is for silver or brushed aluminum letters on a black frame or the inverse.

I'd also like the rx8club URL in silver or white on a black background as a decal to put along the bottom of the rear door window or side of the rear window. Subtle enough that you'd spot it only when close up admiring the car's excellent lines.

I'd go with a different font. That is hard to read just in the picture, imagine how hard it would be for someone to read while the car is moving through traffic, or from a slight distance.

I agree. It would be nice to have a design instead of just the words. Do you have any artist here?

No doubt, that font will need to be easy to read as well as the colors combination. Sometime it's hard to find a good color and font combination until a prototype is done, but I'm sure a good artist with photoshop skill have offer good quality of design.

One thing I don't like to have is polish/chrome metal, it reflects too much light and I get annoyed following any car that had those in the early sunny morning traffic :mad:, therefore I do other car a favor and will not get any plate holder that will reflect bright light ;)

Isn't this a GOOD thing for us then. It'll keep people who tend to tailgate far away from us. ;)

I think they should offer both kinds of plates - that way we have a choice.

I think a simple black frame with white writing would be best. Trying to match colors would be a pain with any other colors. Same for the font. The easier to read the better.

Yup... dealership "advertising" stickers come off with a heat gun. Just be careful not to hold it in one place too long and burn the paint.
