View Full Version : Happy New Year's Eve!!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 11:02 AM Is anyone else bored and stuck at work like me, and have no plans???? I have 13 more hours at work still!!!! Ick. I couldn't manage to find any plans since apparently everyone I know already intends to be doing something by the time I am done covering accounts at 10 p.m. Meanwhile, after I chewed out my boyfriend for being such a jerk, he decides to call me back and make up at least a dozen excuses for why it is NOT his fault that HE didn't call me back like HE promised. Phone broken, busy at work, didn't check his email/voice male/text messages, et cetera. So clearly this is all MY fault that he is an ass!!!!! AGAIN.
:Kill2:
StealthTL 12-31-2005, 11:04 AM Working today AND tomorrow!
Ick!
S
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 11:05 AM Working tomorrow, too!!!! I usually work everyday.
guy321 12-31-2005, 11:24 AM Im not working, but I don't intend on doing anything. I got drunk at an airport the other night for 5 hours.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 11:34 AM Sounds like fun.
guy321 12-31-2005, 11:35 AM It was! It was like freakin Noah's arc. Everyone near me were going to different destinations in pairs (that didn't even know eachother) Met some interesting people, even helped one young lady miss her flight I think!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 11:40 AM I always have the "luck" to be stuck at an airport when everything is closed!!!!! You'd think things would be open pretty much 24/7 since an airport is a 24/7 operation!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 11:41 AM Oh man, that would suck... SOME airports are 24/7 arent they? I remember being stuck in Vegas late, but I don't remember if anything was open..
I was stuck in Miami during hurricane Rita a few months back, and only one bar was open on South Beach!
guy321 12-31-2005, 11:52 AM Bunnygirl, what do you do for work? atleast you get to hang out on the Internet.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 11:56 AM I work at home doing medical transcription. I'm not really getting paid much right now since I get paid for what I do, not by the length of time. But it is a holiday on a weekend, so there really isn't much for me to do anyway.
guy321 12-31-2005, 12:00 PM Sweet, I see flyers for that all the time. You can make $1200 a week right!?
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 12:12 PM I was in San Francisco in October. My plane landed at 8:45 p.m. Most everything was closing up when I got there. Then I was so unlucky as to have my flight delayed from 10:30 p.m. to after midnight. The plane we were waiting for was late coming in because it got delayed in Denver because of a blizzard, so that made it late from Vancouver, B.C. So we get on it at 11:45. Then we couldn't leave because there was a mechanical problem. It finally leaves at 1:00 a.m. and the pilot said he would fly faster than the usual since there were people that had connections on to international flights or whatever in the morning. We were originally supposed to land at 7:45. We got in at 6:45!!!! However, in the middle of the flight the thing that keeps the plane from rocking back and forth went out, so it was a very "interesting" flight. We landed at the Baltimore/D.C. airport where I then had to catch a small company plane to Virginia (this was for a job interview for my second job). I did the interview and testing, flew back to Baltimore and the shops and restaurants were finally starting to open up at 10 a.m.!!!!!
Meanwhile, I had a nightmare of a time trying to get back to Portland. I go to get on my plane in Baltimore and when they scan my ticket they asked me to step aside, stopped boarding everyone, and called security. The next thing I know I am being forced to stand off to the side with men with guns. They deboard the plane of all passengers including flight crew and then send in more armed men with dogs. Everyone is staring at me wondering what I did, and I have no idea what is going on. Eventually they let everyone back on the plane, including me, but I had to wait until everyone else got on. When I finally got on everyone is looking at me really nervously. Well, someone finally asked what I did. All I know is they told me my ticket wouldn't scan!!!!!! Crazy.
Then when the plane is supposed to take off they announce that the FAA has grounded all flights into Atlanta due to fog. Well, we finally get there, (this flight is only about an hour long) and it is 90 degrees out, completely and totally clear, and was the whole way!!!! We land and there are tons more men with big scary guns and dogs in the airport, the power is dimmed way down, and the monitors are all blacked out. Well, the plane was so late I had five minutes to catch my connection to Portland. Turns out it is all the way on the other side of the airport!!!!
I am running like crazy to catch my plane, down a long hallway, down stairs (monorail and people movers shut down) and down what seemed like miles of corridors, then back up two flights of stairs on an escalator (a really steep one) which comes out into the shopping mall/food court type area. I run through there, knocking people down like crazy because they are in my way (oops) down two more hallways and finally get to my gait. All the while they are announcing final boarding. I made it there with maybe 10 seconds to spare!!!!! So I start to get on the plane and they have delayed it 10 minutes because they were waiting for passengers from other delayed planes, plus a lady in a wheelchair!!!! I ran for no reason.
Fortunately, everything from there on until Portland was just fine. Meanwhile, I had all this crazy flying and an job interview within a 21 hour time frame!!!!!
I hope it is much less crazy for my vacation at the end of August. I fly from Portland to Atlanta, wait around for about 5-6 hours, and then get on the plane the Caribbean, lay around there for two full weeks at a five star resort, then hop the plane back to Atlanta and then to Portland. I am still wondering why, when I put in a ticket search to find this, the most direct flight gave me five stops before the island???? I picked as few stops as possible so there is less chance of them losing my luggage in case I have to check one of my bags even though I am taking two large-sized carryons. I should be able to fit my stuff in there. I mean, how much room does a string bikini take????
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 12:13 PM Probably. I just got a 20% pay cut so I gross about $5000 a month now. (I put in 60 hours per week and sometimes up to 80).
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 12:18 PM That's $2500 per 15-day pay period, so that's about right. Unfortunately, my company got rid of my status at statuatory so I don't get quarterly bonuses based on how much I do anymore, which sucks because I make several thousand extra a year that way. Now I have to fill in time sheets (digital stamp), limited to 40 hours so they don't have to pay the overtime, and then work off the clock to get what I want line wise. I suppose that is fine since I never got overtime or holiday pay or anything before, but I really had to whine to get to keep all the production I was doing. There are a lot of people who were statuatory who put in long hours like me that are probably doing the same thing. (I am #1 producer out of over 13,000 employees!!!!).
guy321 12-31-2005, 12:54 PM Wow that was a hectic trip you took.. I was just in Atlanta this last time. It could have been worse for you though..
I was at Detroit Metro once boarding a plane, a guy comes over and says that I'm in his seat... So I showed him my boarding pass to prove I was in the right seat.. He sits in some empty seat across the way as the plane is empty, going to Indianapolis in Nov...
Turns out they changed gates (i had to run across the airport too) and he was supposed to go to Tampa...
guy321 12-31-2005, 12:55 PM Sucks about the pay cut, but the job sounds great!! You can get wireless and work out by a pool in your string bikinis!

BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:09 PM I'd still like to know why they call in dogs and armed men because a ticket doesn't scan???? I had just gotten it printed out at the counter not more than 20 minutes before!!!! (not at all busy airport).
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:11 PM I guess they thought you were a terrorist and tried to sneak on the flight with a home-made ticket :o
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:12 PM That would be nice to do now if the weather didn't suck and I actually had a pool!!! Maybe I can get one of those kiddie pools. It has been raining so hard here this week that roads are flooding, the rivers are getting really high, and we are having mudslides. Fun, fun, fun!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:14 PM oh that sux!! You need to live in in CA!!
That would be sweet, lounging in a kiddie pool on a porch with a smirnof, in the rain!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:18 PM I guess they thought you were a terrorist and tried to sneak on the flight with a home-made ticket :o
Darn. I must be awfully scaring looking with blonde hair and blue eyes!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:19 PM If the Wayans bros can pass as white chicks.. you never know!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:23 PM Darn. I must be awfully scaring looking with blonde hair and blue eyes!!!!
I suppose.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:24 PM I was trying to attach a picture but it doesn't seem to want my picture.
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:28 PM Is your pricture too big? You may need to resize it smaller.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:30 PM I don't know. I'll try again.
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:32 PM If you want to email it to my at achi123@gmail.com, I can resize and post for you if you want.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:38 PM I'm trying again.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:39 PM Yeah!!! It worked this time!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:39 PM Oh yeah, I'd definitely suspect you were smuggling a bomb under that skirt!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:40 PM You think?!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:41 PM So what did they do with the armed men and dogs? did you get detained?
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:46 PM Temporarily. I still made all my flights and I didn't get questioned. I was just held until they sorted everything out.
A few years ago my boyfriend I got kicked off an Alaska Airlines flight (about two months before 9/11) for "inappropriate" behavior in the bathroom. It's not my fault the locked door came open!!!! I couldn't fly that airline for 18 months. We were detained and it was up to the captain to decide whether or not to file charges, but he thought it was hilarious!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:49 PM LMFAO!!!

BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 01:55 PM It was really embarrassing and funny all at the same time. The door was locked but apparently isn't used to people pushed up against them. The door popped open and we fell out onto the floor with him on top of me. Of course, the flight attendant happened to be right there and all the other passengers were staring at us. At the time I was just really embarrassed but anymore it is just hiliarious and it usually tops everyone else's most embarrassing moment stories. LOL
guy321 12-31-2005, 01:59 PM That sure beats the time I was going to the Coinstar machine and my plastic bag with $200 worth of coins busted in the front of a busy supermarket :p
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 02:03 PM I'll bet it does!!! Everyone I tell always thinks I'm so cool because I joined the mile high club!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 02:05 PM well, Im part of that club, I just wasn't part of in-flight entertainment. LOL
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 02:07 PM That's always a good thing!!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 02:08 PM It was actually pretty funny though. There was a college tour group on the plane at the time. When we landed and walked off we got a standing ovation and lots of loud applause and whistling from them!!! Of course, the other people at the airport had no idea what was going on so they probably thought we were somebody important!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 02:09 PM Well, atleast your BF or yourself did not get injured :) Can you imagine being rushed off the plane to an awaiting ambulance?!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 02:13 PM No kidding! I get ER reports like that all the time. Mainly they are men with random odd objects stuffed up themselves such as broken lightbulbs in their rear end, the occasional potato getting stuck, coat hangers getting coiled up and stuck inside their bladders. My personal favorite was the two men who got stuck together and had to take a bus to the hospital to get unstuck, while having a blanket wrapped aroudn themselves!!! That would have been too funny to witness.
Of course, there was a man just the other day with a vibrator stuck up his rear and the doctor had to report it to the police since in that state it is illegal to buy or sell them (I don't know which one since I was just temporarily helping on that account)!!! I think that would top the embarrassment list!
mikeb 12-31-2005, 02:14 PM maybe you guys should PM each other
just a thought
guy321 12-31-2005, 02:17 PM We aren't talking just to eachother, :p.
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 02:43 PM Lol
guy321 12-31-2005, 02:57 PM my pussycat got hissed at by another pussycat, he ran in the house!
abbid 12-31-2005, 02:58 PM IM glad i came back JUST at the right time!
guy321 12-31-2005, 03:01 PM Ok, I've been invited to 2 NYE parties tonight, but I really just want to sit home...
how lame is that?
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 03:33 PM Very. I'd be going out assuming I had somebody to go with. Since my car isn't here yet I have no transporation. My work now says that if my accounts are within 4 hours I can quit. Yeah!!!!! And yet, no plans. Very sad.
juiceRx8 12-31-2005, 03:40 PM wuz board @ work............much better now thanx!

BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 03:52 PM Unfortunately, my car is allegedly on a boat right now!!!! I'm very impatiently waiting!!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 03:53 PM I think it would take me longer than that on a flight!!! But thanks!!!!!
juiceRx8 12-31-2005, 03:53 PM 10 mins. till punch out time......PARTY!!!!!!!!!!!!!
abbid 12-31-2005, 03:55 PM Boring, someone start up an aim chat and invite me: 'abbid' on aim...

guy321 12-31-2005, 03:56 PM You'll be cruising soon!! I know your anticipation though, I just put a contract on a house and don't close until Jan 27th.. I keep driving by it, I think the neighbors think I'm a stalker.
Unfortunately, my car is allegedly on a boat right now!!!! I'm very impatiently waiting!!!!
juiceRx8 12-31-2005, 03:58 PM C-ya Next Year! P-e-a-c-e In '06
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:00 PM If I didn't know you had bought the house I would be wondering who that car is that keeps driving by!!!! Stalker would probably cross my mind!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:01 PM Gee. It closes just in time for my birthday on the 29th!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:09 PM Happy birthday! Big plans? (and no, I wasn't just talking about your bf!)
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:10 PM I don't think they notice, the rx-8 is so non-descript
If I didn't know you had bought the house I would be wondering who that car is that keeps driving by!!!! Stalker would probably cross my mind!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:14 PM I'm quite disgusted with my boyfriend right now so he's not my plans unless he does some serious groveling!!!! No Christmas present, can't seem to figure out how to work a telephone, et cetera!!!!!
The only plans I had was hopefully having my car. It is my 25th so I should probably come up with something to do.
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:17 PM No christmas present! What a shame!!!!!
I once got a GF of mine an eazy-bake oven for christmas (she was 26)..
25th is a cool birthday! make sure you have fun!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:17 PM Might go to the car show here, since the last day is my birthday. If my car isn't here by then I can at least go and admire one!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:18 PM Why is your car coming on the boat anyway? did you get special options?
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:18 PM I suppose batteries are always an option.....cuts down on the need for the boyfriend!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:20 PM HAHA, yeah, but batteries can't ummm.. well I cant say it in public ;)
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:22 PM I special ordered it. I first contacted MNAO about getting the special order and was what I wanted still available. They searched Oregon, Washington, and California and no dealer had already been allotted anything that matched what I wanted and since they hadn't actually started the production for the US I just needed to change the specs on one already alotted to my dealer. So, that is what I did.
6-Speed manual
Winning Blue
Grand Touring
Appearance
Rotary Accent
Navigation
Alarm upgrade
6-disc CD
spoiler
spare tire kit.
I get it for $400 over invoice, plus then all applicable discounts if there are any.
I got the specs changed on Nov. 22 and it went into build order two days later. I was told by MNAO that it would be 8-10 weeks before I got it, so I am definitely hoping so!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:23 PM Nice package!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:23 PM on the car??!!!!
guy321 12-31-2005, 04:24 PM uh, sure! YEAH the car!!
on the car??!!!!
BunnyGirl 12-31-2005, 04:26 PM k. LOL
Cool-Blue-Dad 01-02-2006, 11:27 AM I'm trying again.Allright, we got the airport security story and the mile-high story, now what's the story with that outfit? Portland isn't that warm at Halloween - is that how you dress for work? ;) (Hey, if you work at home, why wouldn't you?)
BunnyGirl 01-02-2006, 11:57 AM I wore that to an office party. I had a "thing" with one of the guys that worked there (thought I'd tease him a little). It's usually around 50 degrees on Halloween, so if I'm indoors it's not too bad.
I got that outfit at www.trashy.com. I love that store!!!!
I'm the mini skirt queen so I dress up a lot, but not for work anymore (mainly just pajamas now). My mom doesn't need to see me all dressed up like that all the time. Now if I lived by myself or with a boyfriend.........
I was a bunny this Halloween but I don't have pictures of it. My mom wasn't home when I was getting ready to leave, so nobody took any. Short, tight, white velvet dress with fuzzy trim all over it, slightly see through.
