the new hot version featured a tuned rx8 with 280hp. i'm not sure if it's turboed. i think it's NA.

the rx8 competed with all tuned 350z, accord euro-r, and is300(altezza). the accord, even though it's front wheel drive, it stayed first pretty much the whole way until the rx8 over took it. all i have to say is the tuned rx8 smoked a highly tuned Z and everything else by far. the car handles so good, because its light and capable of very fast exit speed. during the race, the tuned Z is only even with the 8, but when it comes to corners, the 8 gains a huge length. rx8 = :D :D :D .

what suprised me is the accord handles better than the Z in the corners too. i guess the car is actually great. it's the TSX here in america. the Z is over weight, so it can't carry high exit speed. although Z is still fast on straightlines. i've questioned how the Z can be an ultimate track car for the price like many Z owners claimed. i'm not saying its bad, but it's not as great as everyone said. the car doesn't have good reflexes, and the go-kart feel like the rx8 and s2k, and the Z understeers.

i feel like i'm bashing on the Z quite a bit. :D :D :D

I just got this on DVD. Nice video, the first portion features a stock RX8 versus an S2000 and Skyline for an uphill rolling drag race. The "drivers" didn't seem to take it too seriously since they were dressed in drag. Don't ask.

The tuned RX8 did very well in the turns, although the 350Z was pulling HARD in the straights, especially near the end.

did it mention what kind of mods to make 280hp?

I'm not sure the car made 280PS, since the only mods seemed to be exhaust and ECU, besides for suspension of course.

The RX8 Driver was Keiichi Tsuchiya, the Drift King. Currently Driving in All Japan GT Champion, with Arta NSX team.

I don't think it made to 280ps i think is more likely 250ps. During the Interview between the driver and the Modifier, mentioned on the Board saying 250ps@8500RPM and weight only 1310 KG.

im guessing they did something to take advantage of the higher octane gasoline in japan, ontop of the usual IHE shtuff and probably something like an apexi safc

i just watched it again. yep, it is 250ps. well, that makes the 8 more crazy cause then the car really replys on exit speed to be fast, but damn fast.

well yes i suppose it's because the car is lighter then normal :) it stated the Feed RX8 is as light as 1310Kg i think the Normal RX8 is 1330 Kg. So 20 Kg lighter would help the car run better a quicker ;)

How close is the euro Accord-R actually to the TSX? The TSX seems a bit more aimed at plush than sport. I'm still keeping it in mind for a potential maxima replacement - I don't think there would be a more comfortable/peace-of-mind car to own that has a tinge of sport, for that price. But if it has more than a tinge...

So the Z was tuned. Was it tuned with more power or just the suspension?

good news I think the power loss is only a US SPEC issue. remember the driver is the BIG difference when racing, I am sure the drift king had something to do with him coming first with the rx8.

well the denso driver is good as well. where in JGTC the drift king finish about 11 and so far now about that rank. but Denso still won at least third, or in top 10. But of course the Denso was driving a slow car (Toyota Altezza TRD) :p which he got smoked :D
