I'm getting married Aug 2004. My fiance has left it up to me to find transportation to and from the wedding (woo hoo).

I have a 91 RX-7 in great condition... but I want something flashier for the big event.

My question... does anyone know of a place in Calgary (or at least within easy driving distance) that rents exotic cars? Hopefully, if there is such a company, they will have an RX-8 in a year from now for me to rent.

I cannot afford an RX-8 at this stage of my life (salary=peanuts), but I'd really like to have one for the wedding!

Not to rain on your parade but it is kind of early to know who will and who won't be renting an RX 8. Especially due to the small number of cars sold in Canada this year I doubt that we will see any fleet cars. Also, I don't think the 8 will rate as an exotic. You might try some of the limo companies to see what they offer.

What you might be able to do is invite an 8 owner from the board who also lives in Calgary to act as limo driver in their 8.

You can also contact a dealership to see if they will rent one for the big day.

I read somewhere that due to the high cost of weddings people are now asking for corporate sponsorships allowing companies to advertise their products at their weddings. Rather gauche in my book but to each his own.

At our wedding last year we used my Miata. Too bad it rained a bit and was a bit cold to put down the top but we had a great time, saved a bunch of money and I ended up racing across town to get the food in time for the reception. Couldn't have done it in my OTM.

I am going to a wedding in August. I'm still on the edge for purchasing but was thinking it would be pretty cool to drive the bride and groom to the reception in my new RX8 (If I do get one). It would save them some $$$ ... could be my gift to them. And they would get lots of attention!
