I'm getting my brother-in-law to install two 900 watt 12" subs in my trunk. :) Just wondering if it was too much. We're building the enclosure today around noon. Am I going overboard with the twelve's?

lol dude thats nothing drop in three fifteens ;)....no actually sounds a little overboard...definately post a vid showing how bad it rattles.... =)

if any V8 pulls up next to you and starts shaking his car from all the torque do the same with the killer bass ;)

haha, um i have a jl 500/1 amp and if i crank it up it rattles. i dont even wanna knwo what your 2 900w subs are going to do lol

They're in! Got up at 11 am, headed to Home Depot. Bought some MDF 3/4" wood. Liquid Nails, and some heavy duty screws. Went downtown bought a 1600 watt amp and then this happened...

I assume you arent going for overall sound quality?I love bass, but 900 watts and a pair of 12"....you're never gonna use 900 watts of power..and if you do..your ears might just bleed

I was driving around with the subs at half power and I got disoriented! The overall sound quality is awesome. But the bass will knock over the cars next to me if I want it to. :)

Human ears are not as sensitive to low frequency sound waves as high ones so low end bass does not make your ears bleed like the highs by the tweets would. It came out pretty sweet, congratz on your new system :) .

It was a figure of speech...I know his ears weren't going to literally bleed. (Un)forunately, I was paying attention in my audio/accoustics engineering classes....

2 12's .... thats nothing i am in the middle of doing 2 15's and a 3600 watt amp ... i think it may blow the rear window but it will be worth it ....

The twelves I admit are too much. I'm keeping them turned down because of all the damn rattling of my wing. The sound is awesome at half tho. Should have gone with one, but it's always good to know I have that little extra something under the trunk. :)

If you want to setup off alarms, just put a good exhaust on...my FC sets of car alarms non-stop, those things are worthless.

Off-topic, but related, gonna be putting 2 800W 10s in my wife's car, but my RF amp was blown from the factory so I'm waiting for that to come back. Has anyone heard setup like this?

yea never too much ... My system is almsot done we are still bondoing the box ....
the hardest part is trying to sand it in the car .... cuz it is so big we had to build the whole box in the car ,, i will post new pics as soon as i take them ...

i guarantee my 2 8W3v2's sound many times better and hit just as hard as all your 12's and 15's...that's to much unless your into what has been mentioned above (attention getting) or SPL comps...

too each their own though...but damn...that box for those 15's...HEAVY!!!

I dont think your going overboard. I have a complet kenwood system with 2 12's that puts out 2K watts no prob:rock:

Why not share the dimensions so that we can all learn from what you learned?
