View Full Version : Pictures of VR 8 and BB FD.... Takes awhile to load
buzzardsluck 12-06-2005, 12:38 AM Finally got time and a better camera, so I snapped off a few shots of my babies. As I got ready to take the pictures I realized I had no idea of what angles to take the pictures, so please fire away and let me know which ones you like and dislike. Also I know the background sucks but thats all I had at the time.

buzzardsluck 12-06-2005, 12:45 AM i know everyone has seen a VR 8 but im putting a couple up anyways
NgoRX8 12-06-2005, 12:46 AM Very nice pics. I like that 2nd post, last pic and 3rd post, third pic of the 8 and the 7 facing each other. Lose that license plate off the 8 and take more of those. :D:
You got two sexy rides by the way.
buzzardsluck 12-06-2005, 12:48 AM my favorite is the reflection shot of the hood, dont know why :dunno:

Id love to take the plate off but theres a small town nearby called Garden Ridge and their revenue making agency, wait I mean "police force" makes it a point to pull over any vechile without a front plate.
Ive got more pics of both cars but half way through resizing them I remembered all the times people have shown me pictures of their kids and I didn't want to see them. People tend to go on and on about things they love/proud of (can't blame them). MY point? I didn't want to overload people on the pictures.
Thanks for the compliments NgoRX8.
Avalonstar 12-06-2005, 01:00 AM So lovely. I still want to drive an RX-7, just for the fun of it. But I love those pictures. I also love the one of the two cars facing each other. Great stuff dude, you're one lucky one.
L8APEX 12-08-2005, 08:17 AM The paint on that FD looks to be in very good shape. Great reflection. My favorite is the one looking over the sideview mirror of the FD and seeing the 8 in focus. Nice shot.
Has Texas always required front plates. It has been 12 years since I lived there, and can't remember. Hate those front plates. Glad we don't have them here in Georgia.
Glyphon 12-08-2005, 10:01 AM everytime i see an FD next to an rx8, i'm always amazed at the size difference between the two.
Umbra 12-08-2005, 04:25 PM you shouldn't set cement bricks stacked on the top of your rx7 like that, it crushes the middle of the roof in
Nemesis8 12-08-2005, 04:59 PM When is someone going to produce a different plastic rock guard underpan for the RX8 than is designed like the FD's? That would be a simple bolt on replacement that would give us a little lower lip spoiler.

awesome pictures. loooks greattttt
Whitehot 12-08-2005, 06:47 PM Great looking cars! I've always wanted a FD. I think there's only one on the island over here.
buzzardsluck 12-09-2005, 12:07 AM L8APEX- The car was repainted about a year ago. A big plus when I was looking to buy. As long as I can remember they have required front plates. I dislike them also. The 8 has one just because it had a bracket and the 7 doesn't. There is no way in hell Im drilling holes to mount a ugly plate on my 7. Ill just pay the ticket when I get one.
Both cars were claybarred and polished with Rejex. Great stuff. Just to show how well it lasts, the 8 was done about 1 month before I took the pics, the 7 the day before. I quickly washed both before the photos. Rejex also beads water very well, looks very cool actually.
Glyphon- Im still not used to looking back and being able to touch my rear shocks with ease. The 8 is bigger for sure but hides the rear seats and trunk well, IMO.
Nemesis8- I don't think it would be that simple. I haven't looked real close but imagine it would not be just a bolt on thing for the 8. Doesn't the Mazdaspeed front have a lower lip like your talking about? I think that's as close to bolt on as you can get.
Umbra- That dip in the middle is supposed to be there, plus the roof is strong it can take it lol. BTW those particular blocks are twice the weight of a regular block. I hate them :)
Thanks for the compliments guys, it is appreciated.
allmotorRX8 12-09-2005, 12:53 AM nice pics :icon_tup:
damn, that FD is in great condition
XDEEDUBBX 12-09-2005, 11:29 AM i love the fd..jealous

Is this close to what I was looking for I wonder? Anyone have the LEG Motorsports front lip?
mikeb 12-15-2005, 01:55 PM I have not seen anyone with this LEG lip
I think it cost around 500
Moostafa29 12-15-2005, 08:02 PM I have not seen anyone with this LEG lip

It seems like a waste. Its not that much different from the appearance package lip, and costs much more.
Nemesis8 12-15-2005, 08:30 PM I agree - these pics are really awesome. Don't want to h/j the thread, but the owner of the FD needs to get busy and turn the lip spoiler back to black with....

Nemesis8 12-15-2005, 10:42 PM LOL - I thought I was being subtle :)
G8rboy 12-16-2005, 12:14 AM Damn... that FD is friggin' beautiful. So jealous...
fenderlover 01-05-2006, 11:35 PM What does FD mean?

Those are just a couple threads to look through
Every RX7 generation had a two letter code in the VIN as follows:
1st gen 1979-1985=FB
2nd gen 1986-1992=FC
3rd gen 1993-2002(1995 in the US)=FD
As you'll see in the above thread some call the RX8 an FE. All RX8 VINS do have a FE in them, so thats where people get the FE. Many say it's not a FE because its not a continuation of the RX7 line. So thats that in a nutshell.
Now lets please not start another debate about this :fingersx:
PS- when you see an RX7 owner wave at them, it will give them a heart attack :lol2:
RX4life 01-06-2006, 04:31 AM FD is sooo much more beautiful than the 8....i love them
Bart! 01-06-2006, 07:17 AM I can't hate... I love'em both :)
Chrisbert 01-06-2006, 08:41 AM The FD has such classic sports car lines.
BTW, I see you are at the Practical Pistol Range. How'd ya shoot?
JRichter 01-06-2006, 12:33 PM Wow, I never noticed the huge difference in height between the FD and the RX-8. Nice Pics.

Actually that is part of a Sportsman Team Challenge field with a skeet field being built on the side. I (my family) own the range. As for how I shoot, I wouldn't know I rarely shoot.
JRichter: The only thing similar on these two cars is that they have rotary engine IMO
Thanks again for the compliments on the cars everyone. I'd love to take them to a scenic location but I have 1 problem with that. I only trust myself to drive them :yelrotflm
