I bought my car used at 13k miles and now have 23k on it. The other day I took the rear rotor leading plug out and it looked pretty good, I was quite amazed at how clean it looked. I have not flooded the vehicle since I have owned it, and I asked the service department to see if the previous owner ever had it in for a flood, and there is no record of this, so I am thinking it is pretty safe to say that I have a car that has never flooded, knock on wood.

My question, does anyone know if any of the previous recalls, especially the "trouble cranking" recall had the plugs changed as part of it? I am just trying to get an idea of how many miles are on my plugs, right now I am thinking they have been in there for the whole 23k miles, but if the "trouble starting" recall that was done on my car at 10k had the plugs changed then I only have 13k on the now.

there is no "trouble cranking" recall. it was a TSB. the difference being with a recall mazda has to notify all the owners as to the problem while a TSB is more of a course of action(s) to follow if an owner comes in and complains about a certain problem/issue.

regardless, if it was done at a dealership then it will be in the service records. get your dealer to pull up a full service record for the car.

of course, the original owners could have also changed the plugs on their own.

TSB, recall, I know the difference and could have swore there was one called MSP04 or something to that nature, with a reflash associated with it among other things. I am also pretty sure the previous owner didn't change the plugs, that is why I was asking about the recalls and/or TSB's.

msp04 (mazda special program) was a ecu flash for flooding.

It is alright I have another one but I need to resize it to fit here. I have always liked the stick men fung fu one though.
