The MAZDA SSR-X8
Haul ass, haul lumber.......... just not at the same time.
:-P
I was a bit drunk when I made that, but I still think it came out quite good. :-) Though I don't think it would make a good tow rig. :-/
NVMYGT 12-04-2005, 05:49 PM whoa...do i want it? hell no.
Good photochop...heck yes.
xrider01 12-04-2005, 05:53 PM photoshop or not, that thing looks pugh fugly!
7andan8 12-04-2005, 05:55 PM I agree with NVMYGT, great artwork ... bad idea! This car should not try for all things to all people...
NoTears316 12-04-2005, 06:04 PM Maybe with the Mazdaspeed front end...
BRealistic 12-04-2005, 06:09 PM I understand the confusion.
But I have a beater truck just for hauling stuff- stuff too big and dirty for a station wagon or trunk.
The RX-8 has 0 tow rating. So I can't even get a light duty work trailer.
Mazda made a REPU in the 70s, and it was quite popular in the areas where it was available.
Anyways- a two seater rotary engined vehicle with a manual tranny and a work bed would fit my needs to a T. -Make it a three rotor based on the Renesis (instead of the 20B), and I think it would be a fine modern day REPU. ;-) But that could just be the cheap wine talking.
r0tor 12-04-2005, 06:34 PM see my response in that other forum..... anyway.... brilliant!!!!
cleoent 12-04-2005, 07:16 PM Nice photochop, me thinks the renisis would make a great stump puller ha ha ha.
KYLiquid 12-04-2005, 10:59 PM return of the rotary truck...next up, school bus Rotary style...lol
NgoRX8 12-05-2005, 12:04 AM Look it has a moonroof. That means if you slide it out it will hang out in the air. haha.
Armaant 12-05-2005, 12:23 AM Lets hope that is never considered for production...but in terms of the photochop i thought i was a real car till i read the post
XDEEDUBBX 12-05-2005, 12:40 AM nice chop
buzzardsluck 12-05-2005, 01:04 AM :spew: holy shit wow
BlueFrenzy 12-05-2005, 04:18 AM Good chopping! The rear fender looks kinda cool with that vent there.
4 years to Supercharge 12-05-2005, 06:37 AM Excellent editing.
Did you try putting a removable spoiler on it?
Chemical influence tends to bring good things like creativity.

Yeah, if I had two pics of the same car at different angles, I might have tried to post it as 'spy pics'- to see if I could fool anybody. But with one pic, I just wanted to see what this car would look like- and I didn't spend enough timeto really pass it off as real (I see many flaws now that would need attention). The back is actually off of a B4000, and really only the bumper and detail of the curved lid cover meeting the top of the bed are left- everything else I created (you can make things from scratch on a pic edit if you only use colors already in the image)
I did try to fool some people a while back with this one:

I had some people going with that one. :-P
And I use Paint Shop Pro btw (us poor folks that have to actually buy software for personal use can't afford Photoshop).
StealthFox 12-05-2005, 06:39 PM wow i can't believe there are people near the beginning of this thread whining about how ugly it is, thats the whole point tards it's supposed to be a funny rediculous chop. good job for being drunk and all.
BigOLundh 12-05-2005, 07:09 PM That original pic is just disgusting
vegeta 12-07-2005, 11:29 AM wow, that mazda sport-trac isn't real???? it would have fooled me. you have some mad skills.
dankgummy 12-08-2005, 11:13 AM funny photochop...thing is god awful looking. haha

Ok, then how would you make a better version? just curious.
When you make something from nothing, you are limited to what is available (and your abilitiy).
I actually want such a vehicle to be made- not so much in this exact form, but in this idea. The idea is a sport truck that is a great manual tranny sport driving vehicle that also has a truck bed. I am not sure why this idea seems so foreign to so many, especially since Mazda did this in the 70s.
allmotorRX8 12-12-2005, 11:44 PM good job, nice chop
vectorwolf 12-12-2005, 11:52 PM lol, wow... great work. :) I'll definitely have to agree that you need a different fascia... Mazdaspeed, or maybe INGS would be better?
Xyntax 12-13-2005, 12:19 AM It may be the ugliest thing you've seen, but have you seen the real SSR? It's fuglier.
Roaddemon 12-13-2005, 04:13 PM Good chop. It fooled me. I thought it was a new Mazda concept prototype when I first looked at it.
kwescott 12-13-2005, 07:22 PM I think you did a great job on it....looks like the Chevy SSR all the way. I also like how you fit an extra fender vent in there, for all of us who want to buy 2 sets of fender strakes :)
I got that in an email a couple of days ago .

Just come to Australia! Not my cup of tea though...
BRealistic 12-29-2005, 11:32 PM Just come to Australia! Not my cup of tea though...
I am not sure that is the same thing I am talking about.
himitsu 12-29-2005, 11:54 PM Need clear corners...
rotarygod 12-30-2005, 12:49 AM In about 6 months that original picture will show up on some website somewhere claiming to be a spyshot of an actual Mazda concept vehicle. A couple of years ago a guy on the RX-7 forum drew up some concept pictures for a futuristic vehicle contest and they made it to another site several months later which claimed them to be actual Mazda concept drawings.
