For those not familiar with Renesis history, the RX-Evolv was the platform upon which the 8 was based, wholly designed by Mazda engineers on mostly their own free time. After the demise of the RX-01(RX-7 replacement), the Evolv was the design that piqued Mazda/Ford interest. Here are scans from the flyer. Look familiar?

i think that the rx8 would be better if it had that engine making 280hp, is it the same renisis or a different one?
the only one thing about the RX-Evolv that is better than the RX-8 is the almost invisible door handles...there seems to be something there but you can see it

Mental Pimp, It's the same engine. It was rated at 280HP because of the 10,000RPM redline. (More RPM = More HP)

Hey Mikeb you need to pay more attention in class. There will be a quiz at the end of the semester.

RX-Evolv had those push-in door handles. Same as Mazda Sportif concept.

if i could have anything from the concept it'd be those sliding-down windows for all four dours. that's sweet.

this has to be the closest to seeing a concept car actually brought into production- they are usually not as extreme in bodywork as the concept.
