View Full Version : Some pics from pro photo shoot
RX8SpdDmn 11-30-2005, 01:07 PM David Cho, a University of Michigan student and part time photographer for Tunerzine Magazine, took did a photo shoot with my car. It was a portfolio builder for him and has little chance of actually making it into a magaziine. Hey, I got some free sweet-ass pictures out of it! If you're in the Ann Arbor area and are interested in something similar, contact me and I'll put you in touch with David.

BlueEyes 11-30-2005, 01:11 PM A cookie cutter tuner photographer, shocking. I like the 5th one down, but the rest look like every other tuner photo ever taken, not too say they're bad.Better than I can take, sure, but trite, at best.
It's cool you got them though, make some great desktops, im sure.
NgoRX8 11-30-2005, 01:15 PM Looks nice. I like the 6th picture cuz it gotz some nice exhaust flow. :)
Moostafa29 11-30-2005, 01:17 PM Nice photoshoot!
moRotorMotor 11-30-2005, 01:39 PM Those are some of the hottest photos I've seen in a while. Great job on David's behalf. Do you have these in larger sizes? I'd like to use them for a desktop if that is OK with you. :)
XDEEDUBBX 11-30-2005, 01:45 PM cool pics...im no photographer but they do seem very plain, the first pic is good because of the background, the flames are nice as well.
FLybOi drE 11-30-2005, 02:15 PM what you do to your car that you got flames coming out what looks like stock exhaust?
Nemesis8 11-30-2005, 02:33 PM They look kick ass to me
BOOSTD 7 11-30-2005, 02:47 PM not bad ...
The pics are technically great :)
KYLiquid 11-30-2005, 02:56 PM cool
they look like pictures I take, let david know he needs more 'JDM Tilt' lol
BlueFrenzy 11-30-2005, 03:39 PM Looking good. Interesting choice of location. Reminds me of the other fellow's pics where he took them in an abandoned warehouse.
cleoent 11-30-2005, 05:35 PM i like the flames!
Where did you buy those lights to match the headlights?
RX8SpdDmn 11-30-2005, 05:37 PM i like the flames!

autolumination.com
they're the 4-pod Hyper-White LEDs
I got my foglight bulbs from Hoen-usa.com.
I like the new shades of blues, rather than the nice Xenon low beams, orangeish parking lights, and yellowish foglights.

I'll post them when I get the full CD. This is all I've got at the moment. Believe me, I'd like the desktop sized ones, too! :)

Uh, thanks.
If not phoenominally talented, magazines need many, at least good, photographers around the country who can capture cars wherever they happen to be. Not all are willing or can afford to have a full-time photographer flown to every location for every shoot. David is obviously young, as I mentioned that he's in school and building his portfolio. If he's poducing "cookie cutter tuner" photographs right NOW, I can't wait to see what he's doing in 5 years!

B&B Midpipe. No catalytic converter will allow flames to be shot out a stock muffler :ylsuper:

Enjoy :)

Whitehot 12-01-2005, 08:24 AM The lighting in the first picture is pretty cool. It makes the car look like it has some kind of chrome finish.
English 12-01-2005, 09:39 AM I like 'em. Expecially the 1st & 5th. Expecially.
L8APEX 12-01-2005, 07:44 PM pictures are pretty cool, i grabbed a couple for my rolling screensaver!
off topic question...what width tires are those. they look wider than stock, and look pretty aggresive. nice.

Don't mind the negative comments. They are just jealous. :mdrmed:
SHOWOFF 12-05-2005, 01:46 PM There was some PERFECT lighting effects in some of those. They really showed off the variances in the color of the car depending on the angle of the light. I also really like the FLAMES!
This is the one

Aipex8 02-25-2006, 03:38 AM Yeah, that pic is my favorite too. Looks like it could be a Mazda press photo. Very professional looking. The rest are cool, but that's the portfolio shot there.
UFGator12 02-25-2006, 02:07 PM I really like the pictures too. But, what's with all the stickers on your ride?

:dunno:
I've track the car as much as I can. I don't really make an effort to get rid of the numbers after a DE (there are a ton of rubber marks that I haven't taken off that just didn't show up in the pics), and I've got my driver ID over my doors, for identification at the track. Call it cheezy, if you like, but I like it. Other than that, on the passenger side I have tiny 1x2" decals of the track map of each track I've run so far. On the driver's side, just an SCCA and Cannonball sticers on the rear window.
I'm surprised anyone noticed them, to be honest!
