Starting to really hate this mag....

"Insider dealing -
The mazda RX8 is harder to predict. It is sensational value at £22k for the range topper and small numbers mean rock solid values in the short term, but used punters still fear rotary engines and lumpy mileages will send values plummeting. Right now the Nissan looks like the safest place to put your money"

Do I get the feeling they didn't like it much ?

I guess the guys fed up of his AudiTT and moving to a 350z...

You do get the feeling they are on the Nissan payroll a bit dont you ... ?

Given that 95% of the reviews of the RX8 have been wonderful , and the only Z review I have seen (top gear) has been dreadful - it all looks a bit odd....

I get the feeling the bloke is a lazy driver. His fondness of the effortless torque in the 350z, and his comments about not being able to get the rear wheels "working" on the RX-8.... well that's not a problem other people have, watching that Jap DVD I got earlier. They had the car sliding sideways all over the place. And very balanced it looked too :)

End of the day it's one persons opinion. Wait to see how the responses average out once more magazines go to print...

Agree with Andy on this.

The guy obviously likes to have instant response at any revs in any gear. This isnt making driving fun, its making it easy.

Funny how none of the critiscisms that Clarkson had of the 350Z seem to appear in this article.

Lets see, they don't like it much. But at the same time it's "sensational value". So either, allowing for the low price it's actually very good, or it's disappointing, but only when compared with much more expensive cars. They haven't really thought this through have they?

Got the mag on my desk at the moment.

The thing that astounds me the most is he seems to pick on the things that most other reviews have found to be outstanding features of the car.

He says 'the steering is spongy and unresponsive'... WTF!

'The ride height is like an off roader' (Did he manage to test drive a pre prod???)

He thinks the gear lever is in the wrong place and couldn't find a comfatable driving position. Is he an Orangutan or something.

Even his praises were often couched in negative terms and then were often followed up with positive comments about the 350Z.

I believe he has a Nissan 350Z sponsorship deal or is in unnatural love with the car (see photo in earlier car sex thread).

Yes, please do put a copy of the Autocar review on here - it should be interesting to read but I wouldn't want to put any money in their pockets!!!
